Hi Bloodshot, whered you find the Quark tutorials?
I didn't find any until 2 years after i started. Before then it was some watching my brother work with it, and learning how to do everything myself. Some of my first attempts were pretty bad
All Heretic's & HeXen's fun =)
From Ukraine.
Waiting for HeXen: Edge of Chaos.
Love Quake 1, Quake III, especially Quake Live And Raven Software games.
Hi. The name is Mr.Goodbar and I started playing Quake in '96 when I was about 14 years old. I sucked. I still suck at the game. I've never been in a clan or did anything spectacular. I played a bit of dm but mostly just played ffa for a while. I've been playing shmack for a while and played widowmaker quite a bit but I've never bothered registering. I'm looking forward to chatting with you all.
I think it's more like QPA. I'm Frost. Just started playing quake again. I probably don't know anyone here, but after playing for about 3 days now i know some of you are little annoying kids.

My name is Markus and i live in germany near Stuttgart. Started playing quake since it came out in 1996, mostly LAN and not over the internet because my conection sucked big time. I was an OK player but never a really good one. Had fun anyways . Always loved the gameplay, look and feel of quake1. I hated quake 2 because it feels so different. Never got "warm" with it. Then quake 3 came out and was funny but to colourful in my opinion and the gameplay wasn't as good as quake 1.
Don't played quake for years then and a week or so ago i thought it could be nice to play it again. First searched my old Harddrives for my quake directory, couldn't find it and i had to install from my old original CD's. Needed Dosbox to do that. Hmm, quake.exe and glquake didn't run under Windows 7. Googled a little bit and found out about alternative engines and got stuck on dp. Then i looked a bit arround and thought that this forum here could be a nice place. So i visit every day and look what's new. I like the atmosphere here.
Well I am OoPpEe
I have quite a bit modelling experience but the issue with myself is I create as I go - which is why people never see a release of replacing "xxx" with my own version - because it never happens. I could start off making a Shotgun replacement and it turns out to be more like a hybrid of the Q2 BFG and Q1 Thunderbolt lol.
I mainly release reskins or ports of other models. My old PC had Q1 looking gorgeous and maxed out - could run it smoothly and never dropped below 50fps at any time. Sadly PC was stolen while I was in hospital and now got a "decent" PC.
I used to be the admin of the website: custom-tfc.co.uk
I am canadian but the admin left and gave me the site. There I did VARIOUS stuff for Team Fortress Classic. One of the top releases (downloads) was a Quake 1/Team Fortress texture pack and Models.
Now until I get a better PC I will be back with Quake 1 modding - doing a current mod which isn't much but combines Q1 with the 2 missionpacks and QTest stuff. Just so mappers can mix the games around in mapping. Other additions would simply be the things that SHOULD of been in quake as is. Footsteps, gibbable corpses, bosses killable (but have INSANE amount of health will still need to zap Chthon at least 1ce even with unloading all your ammo into him)
I'm ChronoSeth.
I'm only fourteen, and yet I'm a big fan of all of Id's games since Wolfenstein 3D. This is mostly thanks to my dad introducing me to Quake when I was 3 and DooM when I was 5. I haven't done much for Quake besides playing online recently, but I would love to learn how to mod and map for this awesome game. I'm not really all that great at DM, but I'm good enough at single play to have beaten all four episodes on Nightmare skill without using a mouse. The first port I downloaded was Qrack, for no particular reason (of course, it was quickly overshadowed by DP ).
BTW, I'm pegasus, a guy who registered some within the last year. The only reason I made a new account is because I forgot my effing password.
In case you didn't figure it out, Quake was released the year I was born. XD
My name is Walter and I've been playing Quake 1 for about a month. I got the original demo and began playing it on my HP laptop. I run Puppy Linux off a flash drive but the game played pretty well.
I then got another flash drive and gave it over to swap and started palying the mods. I'm on SOE right now.
Welcome to the forums! There are days of reading here for different mods/ engines/textures etc etc. Have fun reading about the the new content. And playing Quake of course...
Thanks for the welcome! I have already downloaded quite a few mods and am playing Soul of Evil right now. The Christmas one is a trip too! Getting to kill Rudoplh was an added bonus!
