For me it was a choice of dircon.co.uk which ran plain old deathmatch but was well patronised, or junker in the USA which was the home of DeathMatchPlus. Oh and Pita's "Fear" RuneQuake plus and the BDA servers of course. Happy days

Alaskan server where I first started playing with 300+ ping and no sound card with 12 fps... I thought I was the sh!t then lol I met a lot of Quakers off that Alaskan server including AEX-Kirby, AEX-Hermitis they opened up a Rocket Arena gaming cafe in Anchorage, AK... damn i can't remember any other names, need more coffee!
chicago.quakeone.com = scrag ctf (just like trini)

I don't miss the server itself, so much, it was the regular 7-7, 8-8 games that happened there. For a mediocre player such as myself, that opened up room for us to play defense or whatnot.
fking erols brah! best days of my quake time.
essentrix servers were nice but mono WAS a douche.
anyone near Las Vegas? im stuck here for a month. FML!!!
I always used to like Quake 'n Bake's TF servers. That was back before every server was MegaTF.
The last time I played DM with runes back in probably 1997 or 1998. It was still during the Quake MP heyday, but I'm not exactly sure when that mod was invented. Talk about a boatload of fun. I didn't know it had a formal name, but then again I'd have been 11-12 years old at the time.
Anyone still play Threewave CTF? That was my first experience with CTF in ANY form, digital or not. I'd thought at the time that Threewave had invented the concept.
