This is absolutely going to be the last Kimp thread. All Kimp related items go in here. If anyone pops up anymore Kimp threads they are getting locked.

Look I get there is a certain level of satisfaction seeing a steel wall of administration (with far more tools in the pipeline) that is seeing the "bad guys" on the run and justice being served ... and maybe this thread will help you get it out of your system.

Don't be scapegoating or trolling people like Magnus and such. It isn't some sort of weakness that some of the DM regulars got resigned to the fact that Kimp was able to evade bans. To some extent, players do have to be reasonably resigned to the cards dealt.

The world of tomorrow is lying in the wings. Delivery date within 3 weeks.

If Ramp will help me, let us see there are no more Kimp threads or posts. His kind is being dealt with today and has helped the community get focus and unity we need in the coming environment of massive community growth.

*snort* Golden hammer is nothing. No, I'm rewriting an entire overhaul from the ground up. I've just decided I'm not gonna waste any of my time do little updates here, a small one there ... instead concentrating the effort to work without distraction. We've settled for primitive far too long ...

Baker, as foq slighly pointed out, the DM community tried to point out kimp's troubles a year ago. You (the admin of q1) completely shrugged us off.

We wanted kimp out last year, you guys didn't. We pushed hard to get him perm banned, etc.. you guys remained soft.

Now we want to continue to talk about these new and existing issues and you guys just want to completely shut us down.

To say we can't talk about kimp on this forum is pretty bad.

If ram locks/deletes every new thread created about kimp this is not the kind of forum I want to partake in. I can't possibly believe the majority of the users feel we need such extreme moderation where we no longer have the right to "free" speech regarding relevant quake 1 topics.

I'm not sure how many other forums you guys have moderated, or even what your leadership experiences are, but when you constantly remove the ability for those that follow you to express their thoughts you tend to lose them.

Magnus, I`m a member of 2 other major forum communities outside of Quake and the rules regarding forum posts are iron clad and much harsher than here. People and posts are regularly banned for much less.

This is the most free wheeling forum I have seen online.

Your right to freedom of speech isn`t being taken away. You can discuss everything Kimp in one thread (this one). Daily threads discussing these problems are not necessary as Kimp is always the center of attention in some issue or another (therefore inevitably having people create different threads about him).

There are more important issues on this forum, and there are other topics being discussed which should take precedence and are deemed irrelevant because these threads are being generated.

Kimp has been dealt with for the past year since the complaints came up, he has been banned here repeatedly and on servers then he was provided multiple chances because you (the community) requested it, now you want him to be given his 10,000th opportunity to prove himself and it is not going to happen.

I don`t think the Quake community has ever been more lenient with any individual who has corrupted the game; honestly with the amount of players we have left there is really no room for his kind anymore.

Ramp, my leadership experience quite high in both real life and online communities. I used to assist with online community management but now simply act as a consultant.

This forum/community is one of the most poorly moderated groups I take a part in. I base that statement on the history of the kimp problem as well as how easily threads are locked and active members banned.

This site is run most like a commercial site where kimp represents a competing product. It gives you the feeling that the commercial product your vested in cannot compete or compare with some of the features this competitor has available and your only solution is to completely remove any mention of the competitor.

Again this is a clear disconnect between the admin of Q1 and the players.

NO player is asking for kimp to be given another chance. Not on the forums and not in-game.

I'm glad we'll still be able to discuss kimp issues in at least one place on this forum.

PS. Phen, I don't recall you ever playing a DM game.

Come to think of it, AAA, Rabbit and Tremor have been playing the most games lately. I'd like to hear what they think.

Let me just add to my previous statement.

Even though I think this is a poorly run community, I don't think its intentional. I think its perhaps a combination of inexperience and player/management communication issues.

However getting mad when he gets kicked mid-game is basically saying you want him to. Not another chance means not allowed on the server - as allowing him is basically the same as giving him another chance.
No matter what either of your points are, both of you are going to stand your ground.
As Baker and Mindz both said - Zero doesn't want him there and they are enforcing it with a iron fist. Mindz won't change that. You can make 1000 posts in reasons against it, will it change his mind?
