    Don't do it!

    Graphics Description: Integrated Graphics
This sounds to me like it can't do GL, you'll have to WinQuake/WinQuakeWorld it.

    No cool graphics!

    Unless that's ok with you.

My Toshiba plays quake just fine. I will have to see what kind of graphics card is in there as I've had no problem with GL. That puppy gets HOT though. Mind you, I haven't been able to have a serious game on my laptop. Finger placement just doesn't seem right.

Edited: Refurbished? interesting. I would perhaps buy such a machine for my daughter. Not me. ;Þ but it looks like it should play quake just fine. I will still look to see what card my Toshiba has when I get home.

I bought an old Dell laptop for about 300 Euros without thinking about GLQuake. It turned out to be able to run the common engines VERY nice.

You should check what chipset it is.

(I bought at lapstore.de, German store. Just in case )

Unless it's very old 4mb's or less, or very new, most laptops are igp's are they not?

            Any suggestions fellas?
I need gl, but I don't wanted to throw down more then 500US on one..

Here is a new laptop for $449

              $449 Laptop Link

              Intel® Celeron® M Processor 370 (1.50 GHz/1MB Cache/400MHz FSB), 40 GB Hard drive, etc.

It's about double the computer and is brand new and isn't one someone else returned computer. Plus it's only $69 more.

I'm not sure about the video card, though.

Here is a solid review, in quotes it says "not good for 3d gaming..", but I can't help but wonder if he means like BF2 QUAKEIV type gaming....

He didn't run 3dbench2005 on it, but im thinking that even if it can RUN a cycle of that benchmarking program says loads about how it would run quakeworld.
