Yeah, waiting does suck. It's even worse when they tell you it'll be there "Friday" and it isn't.

          Small update, still no laptop..
They lost it, and they have some policy that they have to wait 24-48 hrs for the thing just to POP out of no where.

I did get a 100 dollar cupon on my next purchase with dell, but im thinking why would I every buy anything from dell again?...

Bah...short version....won't be till monday or tuesday till I have any frames to report for this system...

          BUGGERS!

My Computer is Custo, Computer. My family paid for it, and my Uncle gets the guts, nvm, all of it from a website like newegg or something.

                      O.k gents.

                      The eagle has landed.

ezquake is installed and im currently tweaking some settings (yes it does run glquake/glezquake).

It seems to run it well, but I have one issue that is bugging me that I have no idea how to get around. The con. It's empty!!

Before I load a map it's fine and everything you type will stay in the log, but as soon as a map kicks in the text is gone..all of it. I can type in the con but nothing stays or rolls up in the log. So, that's why I have no fps to report at this time.

I think it has something to do with the console modifications that ezquake does to it. It's transparent, which is diffrent before you actualy load a map. I'm thinking if I can make it EXACTLY like the con looks before you load a map it should retain the text.

                      Any help?

Yeah, post that information in the following forum (the official EZQuake forum):

                        http://www.besmella-quake.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=15

You don't even have to register, but register anyway. That forum does NOT require an email address to register, it is a 5 second thing.

Tell them your problem and see what they say.

Include whatever it says your display adapter is on this screen:

To help you, they need to know exactly what display adapter (aka video card) you are using.

Retro, try scr_conalpha 1 and see if that fixes your issue with the text.

If not, let me know. I have some other ideas from some input I've got at various places, but that sounds like the best first possible solution to try before going to those.

That reminds me, one time I won a contest online and the prize was Wolfenstein 3D. After 3 months with nothing showing up I e-mailed them asking if it was shipped when later that day my sister's husband calls and says "Hey man, for the last 3 weeks I've noticed a package sitting at your side door and I was wondering if you knew about it?"

So I'm like "My... side door...?" and go walking around to the other side of the house and there's this moss covered/dirty package laying against our 2nd entrance. The neighbors came running out after hearing the loudest "ARGH!" ever heard in this neighborhood.

Now when I'm expecting a package I walk around the house twice before going in.

I'm in the market for a good laptop now myself, but I have to have really high specs. At least more than 80 gigs, 1 gig of ram or more, best video you can squeeze into a laptop, top notch CPU and a great docking station.
