Sting, I ended up buying the game. It's pretty fun, some times it feels exactly like when I played warcraft 3 though which is a tad frustrating.. in terms of the graphic style/mapping.

All in all though, decent game so far. Seems like it will get boring fast though if they don't bring in a lot of new items quick.. co-op may change my mind though..

graphics are super demanding.. my laptop can't take it for too long lol.. going to have to put together a gaming rig again at some point

I don't know if it's my age or not, but the monsters seem goofy rather than scary. I never once second guessed rushing into an unknown part of the dungeon, whereas with D1, I was very aware that I could be trapped by monsters at any given time.
It's not your age. Look at this moron:

      He's a chef.

Juxtaposed against even the room of the original Butcher:

It's pretty obvious that they've committed to the bubbly, neat, sugary goodness-filled graphics style that is the opposite of Diablo.

I might do that for the next Fallout if it's decent. Not committing to this at all, esp. with the DRM stuff. I prefer single player to kill time sometimes. And I have plenty right now since I'm kind of self-quarantining. Pertussis. Ridiculous outbreak this year.

New Vegas was good, as so was the DLC.

True, its very PG now compared to the previous games, but it's still a fun game- and 3d environments are very nice.

The EULA and MMO style everything-on-blizzard's-server is my biggest complaint (but I agreed to it it anyway..). This is the "Evil" part of the game : \

I might try it in virtualbox.
I am playing it in vbox at the moment, works well enough (sound is dying but that would be my special extra sillyness).

I have to get a cooler fan.. I'm thinking of buying a CM Storm SF 19 17".. It's not too expensive (50$) but the shipping is going to cost me like 86$ to bring it to Hong Kong through Amazon.. I can get some local ones but I doubt they'd be as powerful as this gaming friendly beast..

My laptop is just overheating and shutting down every 15-20 min.. apparently there are a tonne of people having this issue (Bnet's tech support is full of threads about it)..

Even if I clean it, it won't make much of a difference.. hopefully by keeping my comp cool I can play for a long time..

Have you tried thoroughly blowing out the fan? My sister's laptop did the same, it was a well-known issue with that model, and cleaning the fan with an air compressor fixed it 100%.

I'm going to get an air compressor and do that first, it may make a small difference. However, reading the forums, it seems there are people who thoroughly cleaned theirs and still have issues. I will definitely try it though.

Although I heard it elsewhere, your advice saved me! I decided to go to the store after reading what you wrote.. grabbed myself compressed air and hit that little fan vent like a motherfucker! I checked my CPU heat levels with Diablo 3 before using it and I had 95 degrees... after I used it.. it fluctuated between 66-75.. amazing difference.. won't need those coolers after all

Cool. It's weird, on some models, that such a small amount of dust on the fan makes that big a difference.

Diablo 3 is crazy on gfx consumption. Even with a limited framerate it makes my card go hotter than any other game.

I would NOT use compressed air to try to clean a fan. If you turn a fan, it creates electricity. You do not want electricity in your computer unless it is the electricity that powers it. Also you might simply blow parts away/apart.
