In Clan Arena X at the beginning of a match if you jump in water and stay submerged you won't start to lose breath until the countdown reaches ZERO ("FIGHT!"). This can be used to setup an ambush or make a stealthy retreat . This works on every map.

In Quake if you jump and then immediately press and hold jump again before entering water you won't make a splashing sound. Instead you will make a much more muffled swishing sound which goes undetected by most.

Quake 1 was also the first fully 3D FirstPersonShooter game.

Quake 1 was meant to be an RPG/FPS with your main weapon a large hammer.

During the beginning of RocketArena and Clan Arena games, you should always be holding down the Attack button and aiming at your enemy's feet ,even if you miss them theres a real good chance you're gonna throw them off their footing from a splash shot which if they aren't using this tactic will preceed their shot and hopefully knock their aim off.


Case in point , most players do not do this,and it garuntees you have a much better chance at winning if playing 1v1 style (or faced with an enemy during the countdoown).

I don't do this, but I know some players who do and whenever I realize they are getting the punch on me at the start,I start doing it myself because personally it seems a cheap tactic but whatever works!

to play it, get some people at quake.crmod.com , pick any color and ready up
