  • So, which Release of Quake do you Have?

Well, as the title asks, which release of Quake do you have? I have the 2001 Re-release included with Ultimate Quake, and a copy on Steam

EDIT: Oh, I forgot, I also have the 1996 Shareware (Just the CD), and the Nintendo 64 Port.

I've got the original 1996 disc. Box, case, and manual died, though.
    "Shit! What was that!?"

"Command, I've got a problem here; some cowboy clipped me on the way in, and thrusters are at 50 percent and dropping!"

I recieved two copies ; one version that didn't have the Start map included, it only had menu selections availible for the Episodes choices, second copy was a legit 1.06 store bought etc for christmas from my parents. Still to this day,the best christmas present I ever recieved, all things considered, I'm still using it ETC.I can not say that for even HALF the stuff Ive ever recieved .... HEHEH

Two: original '96 copy (with - unfortunately - a small but audible glitch at the start of each CD track) and a copy of "Quake: the Offering", both legit. Boxes/etc long gone, although CD jewel cases and inlay (original)/booklet (Offering) are still intact.

I think I got Quake 1.06 from sunshine after he had installed it on his computer. Or maybe it was my brother who got it. Don't remember.

I pretty much did the same thing as Rambo with Q2 though. I remember going to Best Buy when Q2 came out, bought it, took it home and installed and thought "Wow, this rocket launcher sucks" and never played past the first or second map.

96 original 97 1.06 all still mint case books hell even the price tag still shiny.
wore out q95.bat and many HDD's.
What I would love to get my hands on is the Anthology box set from 95.

I'm really suprised it wasnt the fn shitty Lithium hook that they created in Quake2 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUGcVRNRX3I]Quake 2 Lithium Feel Lucky Punk? - YouTube[/ame]

First time I seen/used hook in Q2 and thats what made me rage-delete Q2.

I would too, but judging how damn expensive they sell for now, I'd rather lose the fancy box and get them separately, or get digital copies off Steam.

I've got quake 1.01, 1.06 and 1.08/1.09 (windows 95 release), as well as 1.01 shareware (ID release). Both the official mission packs, and lots of 3rd party expansions and map discs and editors. I also have Q2+expansions and various 3rd party, Q3A, Q3TA, Q4, ET... and some other random stuff.
