The first link is the older version of AoP. The second link is version 2.0, which was released and talked about earlier in this thread. Just for the record, I'm pretty sure everyone here knows where to download AoP itself. It's the soundtrack we need to get a hold of!Originally posted by R00k View PostDid jen18 just double-post (making that her #2 only post) to include a "watch movies online" on her signature?? Wow are people now employed to be human bots for marketing?
Anyways I haven't played "AoP" but if it's free i'll try it
edit: found two links,

Abyss of Pandemonium
Originally posted by Spirit View PostI am a bit puzzled too.
There IS a boxed version of AoP, Megazoid had it as prize for a competition once. And I am sure I have a copy of that full version somewhere.
On the other hand I know that I never really played AoP, so maybe I always tried the demo version and was pissed because it was the demo.
I will dig into that and put it up at Quaddicted then.
I understand the the Retail has been canceled and its about 455 MB on a CD. I have a Copy of that and a soundtrack..There was a DM and "Final Mission v2.0" which are all under 20mb. It takes you to the final battle with the Dark Reaver Legond, Quake's most feared general. There are some new opponents and weapons in 16 levels. In the tradition of the official expansions, it's nothing special (also there are barely new textures), but there is good and respectable level-design.
In 2008, the two single player episodes (11 maps) were restored and repak'd as The Final Mission v2.0, with improvements and fixes..
There will be all the info and DL at the QUAKEPC Site
*link removed*
Well I will be trying the other guys version to see and confirm.Last edited by Solecord; 08-15-2011, 10:47 PM.

By the way, the AOP soundtrack is awesome. Forgot to comment on it sooner.

Is this truly a "official mission pack"?
I've heard both it is and it isn't. I am assuming not as it hasn't been included in any "official" Quake bundles (like Mission Pack 1/2).
Aside from that, I did give this a try awhile back and it's pretty good.
@IronWarfare, after my mod is done - this could be put on my "possible to-do list"

No, we weren't official. The only two official Q1 packs are "Scourge of Armagon" and "Dissolution of Eternity".Originally posted by OoPpEe View PostIs this truly a "official mission pack"?

I'm not even sure it was ever available in stores in a boxed version, see my other post in this thread. I just have my boxed developer copy, and some more of those might have been shipped to sites/reviewers back then.

Great, even two of the developers didn't know that really ever existed. But it does. I have a full boxed copy bought off of ebay some years ago, and it was shrinkwrapped, and a friend of mine bought his copy direct in a game shop in munich.Originally posted by Tickenest View PostSo...AoP was released for free for a few days, then pulled back, and eventually released as a free multiplayer-only pack, only to more recently be made available in its entirety?
This:
OGDB - Abyss of Pandemonium [PC/Macintosh - CD-ROM/Europa] (199
It was available via Instant Access directly too:
Abyss of Pandemonium
Hope, this is clear now.
