    I'm messing with the effectinfo a bit smith. You have some really cool effects in here like the blood and explosions. I'm experimenting with the concussion wave from the latest SMC with your explosion effect. DeadTenor is right..thanks to all creators and to you Smith for compiling it together! I always download all of this stuff to play around with the variety.

      Quake HD Pack v1.3 download

      You can find a working download link to the complete Quake HD Pack v1.3 in the opening post of this thread.

      There was an issue with SMC addon, the option to disable level fog introduced via ent files did not worked properly. It was disabled when you started level from scratch, but it was back when you were loading game from a save. I am pissed, because I don't like this fog personally and wanted it to be disabled by default and I had this issue since in v1.29 uploaded two months ago. If there is any issue with compilation... I'll fix it. I'll fix it fast. You just have to tell me about it. Second change in SMC addon is reworked a "gib burning in lava" effect. Link to the SMC addon only download on previous page is updated. There were also a few, extremely minor other touches in the main package itself.

      But I'll tell you something about the complete pack - there was effort put into making it all fit together:
      For example, when I look at Seven's screenshots, they are too high contrast and bright to me. Maybe he like it that way, or maybe he just share his gaming room with other people and can't turn lights off, while leaving only weak backlight behind the screen to make subjective blackness level on his LCD better ? So he need it this way to actually see anything ? I don't know. Some SMC effects felt a bit overdone in my, much darker, quake config, though. Similarly, I've designed blood decals to be roughly same resolution as QRP textures, so they nicely blend with the environment. When I put Rygel's ultra textures, they suddenly look bad. Etc. What I am trying to say, is that depending on your build, some things in the addon may don't look as intended, if you try it outside of complete pack.

        thank you for providing us your package! When i understand the sentence above correctly, you are not able to disable the fog effects from SMC compeletly? You mean, fog is re-enabled when loading a savegame? I had this issue too, the only way i found was to rename the .ent-files to something else - when i remember correctly.. It is some time ago..

        So you was able to fix this problem in 1.30? Or does it still persist?

          All of the effects from ent files are fully adjustable via autoexec.cfg since v1.29, but an option to disable fog was not implemented properly.

          I somehow didn't notice it until yesterday It is fixed in QHDv1.3 and addon only downloads, that I've updated today.

          Edit: If you've downloaded gamefront release treat this as a patch: SMC_v4.15_addon.zip
          I should have called current release v1.31 to avoid confusion, but I thought no one managed to download previous one and I wanted to keep a round version number

              It's just a small collection of some minor changes, fixes and additions I've made to SMC over time, few of my older changes made it into original Seven's release.
              Some more I've just released with this compilation. You can read in details about these small touches in this post.

                  Yes, but if you've managed to download removed already gamefront release, you can just download a fixed addon from post #94 for example. Result will be practically the same.

                        The next update will be within few days probably:
                        - I am looking at reduction of some annoying sounds ( shells and loud watersplashes )
                        - I am trying to find workarounds for some minor issues, this pack and the new official DP build have with each other. New build is ~20% faster, so it's worth looking at.

                        • Update v1.31

                          Download link in the opening post of this thread:
                          • Calmed down gibs physics in water, so they generate less watersplashes sounds.
                          • More varied and quieter shells sounds, also a cvar to set a max amount of 'tink' sounds shells can make, set it to 2 if you still find them distracting.
                          • Reduced corpses hitboxes size and weapons gyro forces are more precise. There is less chance for an invisible wall over corpses that stops projectiles effect.
                            Sometimes gibs won't react to shots now ( you have to aim more precisely at them now, while gibs hitboxes remained smaller than models).
                          • Scraag spit trail doesn't look like a neon.

                          • Optional 'Dec 2012 DP build compatibility addon', that at expense of few minor issues, allows you to use newer, 20% faster DP build, details inside the download.

                          • I've just reuploaded with a walkaround for an issue with Fiends, that stuck after jump.
                            It seems that DP has sometimes a problem with detecting a touch, when it lands on the edge of level geometry, like an edge of a step for example.
                            There is a 3s timer in original QC, to release it in such case, but it is a very frequent event on DP, so I've reduced it to 0.5s.
                            There is no new version number, because I've forgot about changing it, but the uploads are updated.

I am making this request because I live in China, which means a lot of services provided by google is very limited here, as a matter of fact, even megaupload, mediafire etc as well. Thanks in advance.
