Offering language help

I myself will also offer help with interpretation as a first speaker of english, and second speaker of german (although my german is quite incomplete i can still ask someone how to get to the bathroom)

Im available at different times than Mind is so i might be of some use.
I dont know what sza was trying to say realy, but it does seem like if he could speak perfect english this would be a lot less confusing.

But from what i can gather he just wants to be the leading authority on the mod community
and tell the modders why noone wants to play our mods.
English speaking or not it seems like he has little patience.

IMO the reason why quake is still not played by a lot of younger people is because of the form of advertising it has. Which is not a lot.
And more importantly the core gameplay is much more simple and a lot less hand-holdy.

You can get just about anywhere the in the maps that the clipping arrangement will let you.
Nowadays kids are used to playing games where you can use the same tactic to stay alive every time and if you focus your sights on one enemy you can always in every scenario kill them. Younger peoples games usually tell them where to go every time and often restrict them from going ANYWHERE but toward the objective.

Smart move. I should have never given mine out to anyone either. Unfortunately i use a block feature to stop email's i do not want. Mark aka MOM does send out Email's quite frequently.

^^^ From discussions I've had recent I'm aware that this sort of image does upset certain members of the community. It's just my very humble opinion but it might be a nice gesture if we could move on and see if a suitable alternative could be found or better still ditch the idea as the joke was well and truly spent about 2 years ago?

I seem to remember a thread some time ago where you could ask for your rank to be changed if you reached a certain number of posts. If you search the forums you could probably dig it up. I'm guessing that number indicated a certain amount of commitment to the community on the part of the member asking for it to be changed.

This is only from my somewhat questionable memory so I could be wrong about this
