How to lower your ping

I figured I would post this, since I had to deal with it yesterday. Normally I ping ~40, but after installing windows again, all my drivers were freshly reinstalled.

I loaded up quake and my ping doubled. I initially thought it had something to do with my operating system, however, I remembered there was a setting that I turned off in my nVidia control panel a while back. Vsynch - It's probably an engine setting somewhere, but I like to turn it off at a higher level.

I turned that off and my ping went back to normal..

Also pq_maxfps (or cl_maxfps for qrack) - increasing this might help your ping.

with vid_vsync 0 and cl_maxfps 208 i get better ping, than with vid_vsync 1.
I'm not sure why but thats just how it is
