scoring goal. 4.To gain the third goal great victories must be won. In the spirit of Machiavelli: test your strength on a couple of smaller clans first, then go after the big ones, leaving the other small ones for later. If you win from small clan X it's nothing special, if you win from big clan Y, everybody will be talking about it. 5.The most important is to play the game with full conviction and dedication to winning. Half-hearted players are a danger to their team members. Any hesitation or mercy takes you away from victory. Even if you have a majority you should handle your forces in a game in the same way as you would handle a bigger opponent. It is better to be a victor early on in the game then to be surprised by a well playing minority. As Frederic the Great said "L'audace, l'audace, toujours l'audace". I mean, it is not nice to be in a respawn area, so decency requires you to get out of there, but you could always leave a calling card in the form of a detpack, or a few grenades... (by the way, I find it below level to hang around in spawning areas, please go play another game if you like that) 6.The second most important is to direct your forces as much as possible against that section of the enemy where it is of the highest priority. Attacking and being hit back in an unimportant part of the map would be a waste of spawns and time. Think about water and how it streams onto a beach at flood: it will always choose the way of the lightest resistance. Find these spots: every team has a weaker player. Check on the listing which enemy operative has the highest ping and attack through him with lower ping operatives. Use the circumstances and the benefits given to you. 7. Never waste time, group and attack with your forces as soon as possible. The enemy is ready to do the same. Do not give the enemy any breathing space, for breathing space is an opportunity to regroup and organize offence or defense. Your enemy must be constantly engaged in battle. He must be unnerved, made tired and confused. 8. Finally, if your clan has won a clan-match, then follow this up as soon as possible. No better drug in battle then the taste of victory. A victory, which is not followed up immediately, will be detrimental to moral. People come to your team to play, not to have endless discussions on who is better. 9. If you have followed up the three-layer lesson and you keep the control of the field, you can do whatever you please within the game and still count on a steadfast defense. 10. In attacking an enemy it must be taking into account that the initial advantage is always with the defending force. They are well fed, well armed and resting. However, considerate pressure can turn even the best defence into chaos. Taking this into account it is advisable never to keep yourself on the defense for more than a moment. 11. Never disperse your troops, but keep them concentrated. Compare a defense with an iron ball, your task is to penetrate that ball. Singular players attacking from all sides will be like needles. A concentrated attack is like a fist. 12. In an attack always try to attack the rear of the enemy. He will never suspect it, and only in very rare cases prepared for it. The offensive should follow one goal, but the actual attack should involve isolating and surrounding an enemy and killing him. 13.When on enemy territory your own supplies are far away and the enemy has a constant fresh stream. This can be dealt with in a couple of ways: instruct an engineer to build an ammo/armour dispenser in the entrance of the enemy base as soon as this is conquered (of course it should be destroyed during the retreat, and can be used as a booby trap). Use the ammo of your killed enemies. Discard what you do not need for your colleagues. If you happen to get into the respawn area, fill up and get out of there. A respawn area is very good as containment for opponents (guard it!), but it is considered bad sports and despicable behaviour to hang around and kill enemies there. 14. Be inventive. A careful commander gives away his style of play in a couple of minutes. The enemy will adapt and overcome your careful play. A bold commander will find his troops bogged down by fierce resistance after the third attack. Change your tactics and your strategy often and without system. The enemy must be totally blind to what you are going to do next. If your strategy allows you to anticipate what is being done the enemy will already have taken half the victory. |
