TFC Results June 30th, 1999 Coup de Grace holds Slayers Slaughters to one cap
Round 1 was played on Well, pings on both sides were low, and both teams looked ready for a good game. Both Offenses set out quick to challenge the opposing team's Defensive players. Our side had an early advantage and was able to keep their Defense at bay long enuff to pull 13 caps. -SS- set out to dispatch our Defense, but were unable to move the flag out of the flag area. Round 2 was played on Run, pretty new map and also very fun to play. CdG set out to cover the key choke points, -SS- set out and spammed the living shit out of us. TFC is always fun playing with a 3000 ping :) 'nuff of my rambling. We were able to keep the flag alive and moving from cap point to cap point. Late in the Round, -SS- grabbed the flag from behind our backs and were able to capitalize on our mistake, but it was too little, too late. GG all around tho, Very nice playing -SS-, hope to play you all again sometime. Total= 27-1, Best 2 out of 3 Rounds
The TG, RTL saga continues
"The Talking Goats and Ride the Lightning have been informed that their match is not over and that they have to continue playing. The have come to an agreement that the next match will be a replay of the tied map which was Rock2 and if another map is needed to be played after that map then 2fort will be used.
The rules for the OGL ties and such definately need to be reviewed because as they are clans could be forced to play 4 or more maps in one night. 2 maps is enough for this Goat!"
U Suck surprises Agression Rangers
U Suck played what thought would be its last match for a while versus AR, however, US pulled out the win. AR played very strong on darkness and made a comeback run at the end. US performed outstanding in the Well round and made some excellent saves. AR had a good offensive strategy, but was forced to hold men back for D. Overall, this was an exciting match. AR is a great clan with great attitudes. Talking Goats beat Ride The Lightning?
Controversy... Both rounds of this battle were played on a neutral server provided by Team Fusion (Thanks TF!) Round 1 was Rock2. Both Teams setup their Defensive fronts and the offences fought the whole match to get the key to the chamber with no success. For the last 3 minutes of the round the goats were pushing their key with the tag team system of deaths and were ever so close when the round ended. Score 0 to 0. Round 2 was the Well. Again both teams setup up their Defensive fronts and gave the offenses a hell of a time at getting to the flag. The goats offence was always one cap ahead of the RTL offence and again at the end of the round were just about to get another Cap. Final Score Goats 50 - RTL 40. Now for the controversy. Goats assumed that they won the game but RTL feel that a third map should be played.
We are now waiting on an official decision by the OGL admin Shaggy.
Zodiac Braves get a free ride from Death Squad
Wow just wanted to do it. Zodiac Braves a team that has come from the bottom all the way to the top is now in the TOP 10.They are currently #9, but have challenged #8 Team Fusion. June 29th, 1999 Gods of Hate take down Digital Resurrection
First game went well, we did a 6 man offensive plan which crushed their defense, but allowed them to sneak 2 caps out. So the next game on there server we went with a 3 man defense and let no caps out for a final of 32 caps to 2. Kindred mutes Natural Born Killas
They forfeited round 2. U Suck calls it quits Monday, June 28, 1999Check the TFC League page for further details and a ray of hope. Black Sun darkens U Suck
First I must say, "WOW!!!" What a match! Clan U Suck played one hell of a match and I will admit, "Those guys are GOOOOOOD!" The first round started out a little uneven. U Suck only had 5 member and we ran 8. But with their below 100 latency for all members, you couldn't really tell they were under manded. U Suck ran away with two quick caps, but our offense managed to get through a very stuburn Defense to snag a couple Then it became a game of touch and move. We had to inch the flag out for every cap. The pre-match bug struck, but both teams played on with problems. Round two started out a little more even. 7 U Suck and 8 BlackSun. The match became a battle Royale! Are Defense dug in, as our offense went and begged for the flag. It seemed at one point that the entire U Suck team was in are basement at the same time. But with some quick Mirv play, Garand managed to clean house. After the smoke cleared and we picked ourselves off of the floor, we noticed that U Suck had managed to pull out three caps, as our offense crawled away with 5. Once again, I must say, Clan U Suck played with honor and are not a team to take lightly. We thank them for a well and hard fought battle. And FUN was had by all! Hate Inc bathes Clan Blood Angels
After they finally got our server IP despite e-mailing it to them hours before we started. We bitch-slapped them good round one. Round 2 we played on their server which was "on a T3" according to them, my bet was a cable modem. Despite the lousy pings for all we played, keeping them to 1 cap. They constantly used messagemode 1 & had someone watching their server console relaying our messagemode 2 to his team mates. I hope no one else has to ever deal with these guys. Talking Goats trample Necromancers
The Goats have continued their Winning streak in the STA league. We blanked the Necromancers on both rounds of 2fort which were both played on the Goats primary server (T1) after the Necromancers had latency problems on the secondary ADSL server. For the first round NM had 8 guys vs our 8 guys but they kept 5 and 6 on Defence. Our Offence took a while to work their way to the flag room and then worked very well together bringing the flag back to our base. They didn't have a chance on Offence and only got into the flag room once. 2 or 3 guys on Offence just wasn't cutting it. 2nd round they lost a man and they kept 6 on Defence and only 1 on O. We
maintained our 4 on D (I was getting very bored on D) and our 4 on O started
to control their flag room It was cap-city from then on.
June 28th, 1999 Clan ][nsurrection puts the IGL title match in perspective In a sea of mediocrity, potential, and failure, there are always that few who rise above it all. They are champions. Champions that gained their fame and honed their skill with nothing short of hard work and dedication. A perpetual struggle for the top rung on that ladder, to be the ones that everyone else strives to be, and everyone else fears to be against. They are the great ones. They are the best. They are champions. But even the greatest of the great are mortal. Their time is short. The next generation of excellence will eventually overtake the old guard. The passing of the torch is inevitable. The IGL, a league barely in its infancy, held its first title match tonight. Despite the youth of the IGL, tonight's match was a battle for the future. Clan Erinyes, the household name in the Team Fortress universe, faced the up-and-coming powerhouse that is Clan ][nsurrection, and never before in the history of the IGL was there a match with more intensity and desire than there was this night. Both clans played with a fire that force could not extinguish. The clamor of the rockets and pipebombs paled in comparison to the churning of the adrenaline flowing through each competitor's body, or the screams of victory and anguish as defenses caved and captures were scored. It was a poetic battle, and it was one for Team Fortress history. The battlefield went silent at 10:45 that night. All that remained was the torch, still in the hands of Clan Erinyes. Their swan song had not yet come. ][nsurrection had their first real taste of intense combat, and more importantly, the first bitter tang of defeat. Erinyes reigns on, while ][nsurrection licks its wounds. But wounds fade. Reigns end. And next Sunday is another day... - SupeRBeast
Clan Erinyes makes it past ][nsurrection
[cheesy Michael Buffer voice] Lets get ready to rumble... ehm [cough] anyway;p Tonight Clan Erinyes faced off with ][nsurrection for the first IGL TFC championship match. RD 1 started on Clan Erinyes' Linux Huggie Changer, with the ping advantage to CE. The round started with many probing attacks by both offenses and both defenses repelling most efforts. ][nsurrection pulled a sniper in on the wall about 5 mins into the game to help counter our ARod! and our other outside soldier, but more or less kept them annoyed more than anything else ;p Around 10 minutes into the game the CE offense consisting of Cyrus, Elric and Traa began making headway with the ][nsurrection flag and finally our exterior soldiers began seeing that great sight of the enemy flag coming over the middle as it was brought home. Around the 20 minute mark ][nsurrection made a heavy push and was able to break into our flag room. Much spam ensued and after approximately 2 minutes of touches a lone ][ player made it out with our flag, followed by a cap by the CE offense. RD 1 ended 18-2 in favor of Clan Erinyes. RD 2 started on ][nsurrection's server where pings were decidedly lower for all even though there was some additional pl for our west coasters. CE made some minor adjustments to our offense and defense and after a couple server resets the match was on. Again ][nsurrection fielded a sniper who this time was more of a nuisance but the first cap went to the CE offense. Around the 13 minute mark one of our defensive soldiers dropped due to a power outage and we attempted to compensate until another player could get in, in doing so we held off a cap for about 1-2 minutes, but eventually they were able to pull through and grab a cap of their own. Both offenses and defenses proceeded to frag away for the remainder of the match and oh that pesky sniper ][-Eightball took out our front guys a couple of times ;p We exchanged a cap or two before the rd ended. RD 2 final 6-4 CE. Final score 24-6 Clan Erinyes, this was a very enjoyable game and we definitely look forward to the rematch in the coming weeks. Great game ][nsurrection!
clan Maylstryx surprises U Suck
This was a most excellent game :) Before coming to this game, I had heard a good deal about US and honestly expected to lose..but nonetheless, we played our best, and to my personal surprise, came out the winner. I know our offense did very well, though I don't know the details as I'm the lowly flag piper :) From that point of view though, I know first round their offense was primarily medics and a soldier here and there, plus maybe a spy on the side...but we held that off rather well..2nd round got scary though...they wisened up and took the power approach, giving the Defense a hard time...many a rocket came my way I remember that clearly..and it still hurts :( Through the combined determination of both the offense and defense, we held our lead against US...very GG US :)
Kindred brings the Love to Hate Inc
This match went well. The score maybe a little misleading here since HATE played both rounds a man down in r1 and 2 down in r2. they however played on an didn't even think about a forfiet or reschedule. Both clan broke the barriers down early to get thier offense flying in as quickly as posible. HATE came at us with a strong scout/medic rush despite being down a man. these guys played hard and didn't let up as we expected. Fooster and Cabal carried most of the load for KiN getting the flag to our base with support from great defense. Good Game all around on a well designed map. Final - 118-13 in favor of KiN
Agression Rangers take out Evil Dead
=AR= traveled out to the Left Coast for the first round on Evil Dead's match server and found it to our liking. Evil Dead (Ed) was kind enough to delay the start while 1 of the guys from our Action Quake squad suited up to replace a starter condemmed to PL hell for the night. Except for 1 phatdragonesque run with the enemy flag back into the enemy base and up to the enemy cap point the kid did ok. Meanwhile, Ed was tough on D but the =AR= spy/soldier attack finally got it going and the round ended 16-2, =AR=. The 2nd round was on =AR='s TFC Bootcamp. Ed was a man short and instead of packing the defense they went for broke and came at =AR='s defense with everything but the kitchen sink. =AR= countered with their "Speed" offense and behind some nifty soldiering (Rae & Conan)got a flag relay going and came away with 57 points. Props to Ed as they never stopped coming and did break thru a tough =AR= defense for 4 caps on the 2nd round. Kollectiv blanks Secret Silencer Squad
The match started out with SSS having some problems getting enough members, and they went into round 1 a man down. RD:1 Kollektiv started out as blue team, and SSS as red team. Kollektiv started off with an early flag cap, and after that SSS was never fully able to get their defense set up. Kollektiv put up a strong defense which SSS had problems getting through. RD:2 SSS lost another guy and was 2 guys down. Kollektiv started out with the early cap once again, with SSS having trouble with setting up a good defense. SSS's offense started out slow, but then picked up more towards the end of the game, with them moving the flag, but not able to cap it. Kollektiv was able to succeed with about same results as round 1. Another member of SSS was forced to leave in the last 5 min, but the rest of the members stayed in and stuck it out. SSS never gave up untill the last second of the game. Good Luck to SSS in the future. Coup de Grace holds off Grave Diggers
CdG and GD has a really fun match. No problems or issues, everyone was on time and the match went off smoothly. R1, CdG took a really strong lead and had an expert offense team in place, pulling in 38 cap points. CdG defense held tight on R1, only allowing GD 6 cap points. In R2, the Grave Diggers came back strong with a solid defense and a good offense as well. R2 GD earned 24 cap points to CdG's 12. Nice job overall for both clans, although CdG edged out the win. Army of Darkness marches past Double Wide
The match was to be held on {AOD}Dead_On_Arrival, but about an hour before the match it crashed and was to be later found out that our computer hosting the server was hacked. We appreciate DW's patience while we got a good replacement server up. Now onto the match... Round 1.
Round 2
Total Harmonic Destruction plays taps for Operation Strike Force
Operation Strike Force informed us that they are no longer together. Therefore, Total Harmonic Destruction wins another one by forfiet. Woopee! WOLF prances by SiGiL
NULL accidentally passes Alpha Gods
Due to the holiday week, AG had difficulty gathering enough players for the match. Being good sports, Null wanted to reschedule the match but the rules prohibit us from doing so. Null wins by forfeit. June 27th, 1999 U Suck blocks Death From Above
Round 1 was played very well by both teams. DFA sacrificed offensive pressure for Defense, however, the US flag carriers came though with good teamwork. Played at a later day, Round 2 was a very conservative round for US as we were protecting our lead at all costs versus a skilled DFA team. A few flag touches were all that were recorded in the round. Both teams played with less than 100% and ended up in a 0-0 tie. GraveDiggers toss some dirt on Army of Darkness
We had rescheduled this match due to server problems the first time. We got into the game with us having 8 and them having 5. this was 40 minutes past the scheduled time due to some problems with their server. They finally forfeited due to being outnumbered. Better luck next time AOD we really would have rather played. June 25th, 1999 clan Maylstryx uses Special Tactics
Round 1 was cz2 played on cM's beer server. After tweaking our setup from our loss to CE in the igl, we came out fighting. This may have been st's first match on cz2, so they were somewhat disorganized. Game ended 256-59 for cM. Round 2 was on ST's server, which seemed to take forever to set up. The map was well. After the generic 5 minute prematch the door opened but nobody died, they hadnt upgraded the server from 1009. We played 20 mins until everyonne died and the scorw was reset, but by that time we had 9 caps. We capped 4 more before we realized the server didnt have the right timelimit, and decided to call it a night. GG ST June 23rd, 1999 Gun Runners insult Necromancers
We totally kicked nutts because they dont know how to play offense. 1st Infantry Division outmans Skull Fracture
OGL match between the 1st Infantry Division and Skull Fracture, 1st.I had 8 people on time, SF had 5, after waiting an hour for SF's 6th man to show up, we decided to call it a SF forfeit, we look forward to playing them for real sometime in the future. Agression Rangers blackout Black Sun
=AR= met BlkSun for the second time in OGL and once again a good time was had by all. BlkSun selected WELL and 2FORT for the match which was held at the =AR=BootcampTFC server. The first map played was WELL and both clans started with a scout rush. Scouts and medics were soon peeling themselves off the ceiling and in short order both moved the flags out for early caps. BlkSun came hard at the =AR= defense with a good combination of scouts and spies mixing in the occasional soldier and medic. =AR= picked at the BlkSun defense with a combination of soldiers and medic/scouts who kept the flag on the move eventually finishing with 4 caps against the very stubborn BlkSun defense. The last 5 minutes or so involved a battle royale in the =AR= water as BlkSun moved the flag inch by inch through the waterway, just reaching the outlet when the round ended. The map was marred by the persistent "prematch bug" which resulted in a kill off of everyone 5 minutes into the match. All credit to BlkSun for playing on without comment or criticism. Score: 4-1, =AR= The 2nd map on 2fort saw BlkSun pulling back on defense mostly into
their basement and attacking with scouts/soldiers/demos and an
occasional HWGuy and spy. Having switched to offense because of
packetloss problems of my own I didn't see much in the =AR= fort but I
think it is safe to say the defense was rock solid as I don't believe
the =AR= flag left the basement. =AR= attacked with soldiers and medics
and an occasional demoman who were pretty much given free run of the
BlkSun ramp room. =AR= kept up a relentless pressure on the flag and
eventually broke down the defense for a string of caps. Win or lose a
match with Black Sun is always fun and we look forward to meeting them
again.Score: 9-0 Final: 13-1
Digital Resurrection rises above Special Operations Forces
This was a good game. Both clans performed well, and i would like to thanks SoF's leaders for there cooperation when we were tryin to figure out the score. SoF, you guys are a good clan, and i hope we meet up again, for a little friendly scrimm. Thanks all, C-ya later WOLF walks by SiGiL
they didn't show..hopefully we'll get a clan that'll show up this week June 22nd, 1999 Twilight's Blade sheaths their sword
We as a clan, feel that we're just not having as much fun as we used to in this game, and instead of hoping for things to pick up, we're leaving now. Also we'll be losing a number of players over the summer due to several factors including school letting out, vacations, and summer jobs among other things, and feel that we cannot support a clan able enough to maintain our posistion within the Top 10. We WILL return to the OGL in the future. Twilight's Blade has been part of contructing two of it's ladders, the Weapons Factory ladder and the Team Fortress Classic ladder, and we also want to be part of the Team Fortress 2, or Weapons Factory Arena ladders, if the staff decides to follow those courses of action. It's been good to be part of the ladder, and has brought us some excellent challenges from other people. Regarding our current situation with Dice, we feel bad that they challenged us while we were contemplating movement, and will be awarding them a win and wish them the best of luck in their quest for #1. Thank you everybody for everything. We are not breaking up, we are merely moving on. And I promise that you will see us again in the near future. [TB]Gargoyal
Kindred sets Black Sun
WOW... this was a great match with a great opponent. WE faced off with Black Sun. These guys are a clas act ith skills to go with it. These guys had thier crap together. they were on the server on time, organized and even had the map!!! (bad exp. with sundays match with a clan that will remain nameless...). now on to the details. R1 started pretty slow and remained at that pace through out. BlkSun had an awesome d laying down the smack by piping the big button. Fooster made it to the button several times only to have his pieces blown to bits. We were able to squweak a mirv into thier comm center for a stingy 9 points in r1 and it remained at that. KiN 9 - BlkSun 0 r2 was a different story all together. I guess both sides got some extra potent crack enhanced wheaties. This match was pretty high octane. The came at us with Mech6's smooth spy rush which had us all screwed up and they mangaed to pick up a quick 17 points. then the infamous pre-match mojo kicked in resetting the scores. we got a screen cap before it happened. Play resumed on as KiN poured the offense onto BlkSun. KiN was afraid of being shut out. we sent in everthing that would respawn and eventually broke through the HWGuys and Demoman with our soldier front, letting the engys and meds get through to heal and emp any pipes that they had ready for us. KiN broke down thier d and took control of the button. Fooster[KiN] being locked into the comm center had a field day pushing all the pretty buttons. after all was said and done KiN ended the match with a total of 140 points and BlkSun 17 I would have to say that this was an enjoyable map and game. We did not know what to expect from Black Sun or the way the map is played. I am pleased that both the map and BlkSun were worthy opponents.
U Suck kills Flat Liners
FL complained about the map and the lag the whole first round in MM1 (avg FL ping 250). So, we agreed to play on their server for rd2 on the WELL even though their server was NOT upgraded. Six of our guys were able to connect to their seven. The FL pings soared even higher, however. Unfortately, after about 10 US caps, they began to leave and they opened the server to the public. We recorded 16 caps before the public players joined. Talking Goats drain the Blood Angels
What can I say. The scores says it all. What an amazing match. How much closer could it have been? (153 to 152?) I have to hand it to CBA. They started out really slow in the first round and the Talking Goats got a little cocky and started to rejoice before the first round was even over. Then CBA put on their work boots and started to kick the goats butts. The Goats recovered but CBA had put a big dent in the goats big lead. 2nd round CBA got the first points and held the goats offense at bay for a long time. Then both clans got into the Command Centres and it was a race to see who could clear the other out first. Fortunately for the goats they cleared CBA out and barily hung on for the over all win. Congrats to CBA on their first match in the STA league, everybody else watch out, these guys are for real. Gods of Hate frown on Hate Inc.
Aside from the server crash that kills everyone resets scores.. and continues on.. (which is why they scored) everything went smoothly. Our server didnt work within the 10 minute limit.. so we used there server again. Nothing really to report. Other then wanting that bug fixed. June 21st, 1999 Clan Erinyes battles it out with U Suck!
RD 1 started on The Huggie Changer TFC CE played in the Red base US in the Blue. Rd started with a quick cap by US followed by a touch, finally our offense and defense got settled in. Our new soldier ZenD held the flag room quite nicely whenever our flag got loose once we got into the grove, meanwhile the CE offense kicked it into overdrive and started capping. There were some nice moves by US's scouts and medics, likewise the CE concjumpers held their own. Rd 1 ended 26-8 in favor of CE. RD 2 moved to US's east coast server where US had the ping advantage, some quick adjustments to compensate for this in our o and d to help counter the pings. Rd started out with the CE offensive machine making a couple caps however the US o and d wer ento to be outdone, they quickly started matching us cap for cap and made a nice come back. RD 2 ended 40-32 in favor of CE. Final Score 66-40.
][nsurrection overthrows Evil Dead
Round 1: ][ and ED went into tonight's match, part of the IGL unofficial "Final Four", vying for the title of IGL Champion along with uS and CE. Both teams were fierce from the start, making the first two-thirds of the game a defenders' duel. Even down a man, eD held their fort down excellently, stopping ][ rushes and rebuilding guns as fast as they were torn down. the eD offense was also rendered ineffectual by the stalwart ][ defenders. Then with 10 minutes left, ][ blew a hole in ED's line and began scoring cap after cap, resulting in a 18-6 victory for ][nsurrection. Round 2: The battle moved on to ED's server, where early technical problems delayed the match about 15 minutes. Finally the battle begam, and ]['s offense picked up right where they left off, even after substituting a man. ED was at full strength this time around, and for a good part of the match had ]['s flag off the platform and out in the field, making for some intense firefights and spamming wars for possession of the flag. ][ scored slowly but steadily, running into trouble when ED switched back to its 3 Engineer setup. When the smoke finally cleared, ][ pulled out the 9-2 score and the aggregate 27-8 victory. Best of luck to ED in the future. Hate Inc outmaneuvers Coup de Grace
A rather unknown clan to us, and we didn't know what to expect. Round 1 was all HATE in the early half, capping 19 points, with CDG 8. CDG began to tighten the defense but too late by the 2nd map, in which the clans tied. Tough map, good game. clan Maylstryx comes from behind to beat Grave Diggers
This has been one of the more intense matches that we've been in for awhile...first round GD takes the lead with ever so annoying rocket jumpers to the flag and out :( Our offense did it's best to keep up in score for that round, but couldn't quite make it. Round 1 ends in GD's favor, so we quickly change plans for round2 during the 10 min intermission...after much quick debate, we setup with a new D, which as it turns out in round2, was much more efficient..plus our O changed tactics too and managed to start pulling cap after cap out, while near the end GD started pulling out diffrent offensive tactics thats were for the most part held out(xept for 1 cap :() Very GG GD. Kindred demystifies the Alpha Gods
due to time constraints and Father's day both clans agreed to play 1x45 on this beloved map. It seems that Alpha Gods were a little green at this map as shown by thier defensive setup. Kindred had the advantage however, KiN has been playing this map for some time now and can move around it quite well. KiN's pffense seemed to be unrelentless at time sending in a fury of medics and engys to take over the flag room. Needless to say there isn't much to say about this game or map. GG [AG]
Agression Rangers spoil Kollectiv
Darkness proved to be a worthy map for IGL play in the classic 2fort style but with enough twists and size to open up the scoring and make for an entertaining game. Tonight =AR= got a head start on Kollektiv with a firm defense of the blue base and an offense that heated up as the 1st round came to a close. 2nd round Kollektiv was a man down but took the field with nary a complaint nor excuse. =AR= found the red base much tougher to defend and Kollektiv came with a fury, more than tripling their caps in the 2nd round. =AR='s offensive squad was up to the task and with a few members trying faster classes for the 1st time =AR= was able to build on the lead from the 1st round. Props to Kollektiv. They are a good clan, fun to play against, and proved tonight that they have a lot of heart. Total Harmonic Destruction forfeit over Noble Executioners
Noble Executioners unfortunately could not come up with enough players to play this evenings match. Props to NEx for bringing who they could and explaining the dilemma. They had some folks out of town and some others with system problems. We were going to scrimmage, but decided against it in the hopes that we could eventually play NEx legitimately. Thanks again to the NEx crew for the courtesy and taking the time to explain the sitch. An unfortunate forfeit. We would have much preferred to play. Death From Above lands on Army of Darkness
Well, the match started late due to server problems, mostly getting the server. A few people had trouble joining the server simply because people seem to have problems with the map darkness. None the less, it was a fun match and both teams played well and fairly. Round one DFA snuck several medic caps after machine gunning down a lone sentry and sprinting past the AOD defense. DFA came out on top by 6. Round 2 AOD put up several sentries so we took in some soldiers and powered the flag out for 13 caps. (3 caps for 2 points in the DFA base). DFA thanks AOD for playing and being good sports. GG's all around. Digital Resurrection show up against People of Destruction
First off, i would like to apologize for our past 2 strikes. We do not consider our selves a summer clan. Seeing as though most of our members get their connection from a colledge, when school is out, they are stuck with 56k, and the connection is a little less than reliable. But all excuses aside, we did have 2 forfeights, and therefore had to muster up the strength to get 8 people online, and we did. We waited the alloted time for IGL-TFC (15 minutes) and were sadly dissapointed that all our efforts had gone to waste. Clan PoD never showed up. I contacted their leader in ICQ, and i e-mailed him. I got no response. So i have come to the conclusion that due to PoD being absent, clan {DiRe} is victorious, but not by the way we would have liked to have been victorious. Please consider this a showing of improvement in our attendance, and we hope to keep it up. And no more of those strikes for us (if the connections serve us well). Thankyou for giving us this one last chance to defend our ranks in the IGL league. ApOkAliPs{DiRe} Hate Inc rides Ride the Lightning
Our first competitive match with this clan, and decisively won by HateInc. From all the hype, we braced for something very challenging, but our off and def plans proved much too enduring. They had a pool of people with some visible talent, though the pings of 200-250+ weren't about to knock out sub-100 vets on our side... They liked medics, almost as much as we do.. between the two maps, they took the flag for about 5 steps, but subsequently never again to behold its winning embrace for the other 59 minutes 50 seconds. 27 to zero. 100k Devil Legion bewitches The Citadel
We started with 2fort, their team setting a solid defense right away. They had 2 neers that were wicked and a demo that was ready at the elevator, but once we got our offense coordinated and went in together, they had a difficult time regrouping on def. to prevent the cap. That could have been the time they pushed hard o..On Well, our defense was just way too solid..They did capitalize on a lapse when our guys went to restock and capped early, but we already were on the way back to our fort with theirs. We were much more coordinated on offense this game and the score shows. I would like to thank The Citadel for a great match. We hope to see them near the top (hopefully) with us soon, they are a solid clan. Zodiac Braves hack Slayers Slaughterers
Round one started and SS quickly got a cap. We picked up our play and got a cap back. Our offense kept persistent while out defense stayed strong for the rest of the round. Round one ended with a score of ZB 7 and SS 1. Round 2 was played on their server again. We set up defense up quickly and sent in the offense. Our offense picked up numerous caps while the defense again stayed strong not allowing a single cap. Overall a good game, even though latency was pretty steep.(almost everyone over 350) Good luck in the future SS. June 18th, 1999 Black Sun fries Talking Goats
What a fun match! Started out in the well. Both teams set up deffense really fast, but our Offense managed to squeze in a take 2 caps. Not to be out played, Talking Goats [TG] brought everything, including the kitchen sink, at us. After some great spy/medic/soldier combo's. TG ran away with a cap. After some heavy battling going both ways, our offense managed to get 5 more caps as TG pulled away with 1 more. 2Fort started out with a quick cap by our offense. But after that, TG's deffense, dug in and wasn't letting anyone through. As our defense managed to keep TG at bay, our offense managed to pull out another cap. Then the worse thing that could happen, happened! TG's server crashed. :( Thus ending the match. We would like to thank Talking Goats for a very good and Really FUN match. And we look forward to meeting them on the Field of Battle again! June 17th, 1999 Clan Erinyes blanks Agression Rangers
Rd 1 was on The Linux Huggie Changer, after a server reboot pings settled down somewhat. Rd started on Rock2 with teamplay 11 (both clans agreed) and the typicaly offensive and defensive posturing. Our engineer was able to keep them from the shower entrance, while Gate/Blew and Ramrod kept them from making any headway with our flag. Meanwhile our offense started getting touches and eventually got into the cap role. Approximately 23-25 minutes in the score was 8-0 (105-0), some netgraphs went red (on both teams) and when all was said and done 2 CE's had been dropped and at least 3 AR's had been, best guess was a router went out somewhere, as the CE's were outside cali and a large chunk of AR was east coast. So we agreed at 8-0 to call the rd and move to AR's server (a cap was made by both teams during the discussion between both leaders in mm1 but decided to not count either cap as they were made almost at the exact same time). RD 1 8-0 CE Rd 2 moved to AR's east coast server on 2fort, where pings were about equal. Rd started fast and furious with both clans making probing attacks. The CE defense again held while the offense made some caps at least one brought home by our fearless leader, Ares who's apparently come out of retirement ;p. At anyrate, rd 2 ended 3-0 in favor of CE. Final Score 11-0 CE, as always an enjoyable game =AR= and we look forward to playing them in the future. 1st round went strong we where all over them and they had no where to hide. 2nd round they started off good then went to yelling about our pings and changing there name and making there name dissappear and just plain gooofing off so we all went on offense and tried to play with no defense at all to see if they would notice they got 3 caps outa the deal..... Well, RTL's first attempt into the top ten was a success. We played both maps on their server because we dont have one, but theirs is great and we appreicate them for allowing us to use theirs for both. We started with 2forts and are defense was up to the task.TF put up a helluva fight, regardless of the score, they kept us real busy in the basement. Both teams did a great job. The second map was cz2 and I was alittle worried with this one because of the scoring difference's. RTL came in with a game plan and stuck with it. TF had some great sentry placement that had us dead in our tracks until we finally killed it(that thing probably had 100 kill's lol). The match rolled on and we were able to hold our flag positions until they blew our command center(nice). We regrouped and were able to hold on for the win.TF was fun to play against and on behalf of RTL, we would like to thank them for a great matchup. |
