Your favourite map(s) in 2008?
After “only” 19 releases in 2007, 2008 gave you almost 3 per months: 33 (including patches). And what quality!
You have 2 votes, choose wisely. Keep in mind that this poll is about what the “best” release is, not a Top10 or something. The result will be unfair for all but place #1. The poll is open until the end of January.
The order is randomly shuffled list. If you need the filename for a better memory, just hover the mouse on the names (or click on them to get to the maps description).

Last poll results and a new one
While The Outer Gods and Great Old Ones were not fully satisfied with the results of the Shambler poll, they do appreciated the 64 souls who voted against them. Time for a new poll.
So, what FOV (field of view) do you use? After I went drooling over the FOV 120 speed rush in ~2004, I managed to get back to 100 this year. Now I just put 90 in my config, feels super weird for the moment.
The Shub-Hub is doomed
I’ve thought about this for a while and decided not to continue hosting the Shub-Hub. If someone wants to take over, please leave a comment. It’s currently hosted at Dreamhost, no idea if one could transfer it right there (new signups will not be allowed to host such site!). If you kick off Rygel’s stupidly huge texture compilations, traffic will be <100GB month, files are currently http://shub-hub.com/shub-hub_files.txt, http://shub-hub.com/shub-hub_idgames2.txt and a couple others.
The deathmatch maps will be hosted at Quaddicted.com again.
Engines, tools and wads, well, look at the navigation at the left.
Hosting is paid up until mid of January, so this is an early decision and notice.
I just realised it was its second birthday a couple of days ago, poor baby.
Update: Please see http://www.quaddicted.com/?p=270
Tools, Wads, Engines
Here’s a bunch of tools, the wads are now integrated into the rest of the site and I started uploading engines. The interviews got the new layout. The forums will probably go away again, there is no natural interest and I don’t want to cause any artificial one.
Comments are back
You can now comment on maps again. If you do not see the form, make sure to enable IFrames for Quaddicted.com. Just like with Javascript it is a good idea not to enable IFrames globally. If I knew a better way to implement comments, I’d use it. Please feel welcome to use the comments to notify me about missing screenshots or thumbnails.
