i want to thank cheapalert for rubbing me in the wrong places (calling me a warez monkey).

during the last 2 days i have developed a new equake, it's called fquake. it has no pak1 file.

it is an online installer, grabbing everything from a distfile-directory where everything has been separated (i.e. no GPL violations) into different packs.

it also downloads the quake shareware and extracts pak0.pak.

i'm hoping this will replace equake completely!

well actually baker, the installer is pretty much done.

i'm talking about making the "get started" page and making fquake bigger than equake

i can't STOP equake on my own, i can probably take the website down, and probably remove the files from endpoint too (eventhough i have no access there whatsoever). but people will still be able to send equake to their friends and put it up on their own websites.

I've read your posts on Besmella about the fQuake package. I know you are quite sincere about it.

fQuake would probably cause confusion with FuhQuake and Fitzquake just like Equake did with Equake lol.

well at least fuhquake is a dead project, being confused with an active project is worse than being confused with a dead one.

freequake might be confused with the dead sourceforge project "freequake". but since that's a dead project, who cares?
