hehe i like that idea! as long as u can vote for it

but the reason i brought it up is.. i'm sharing my connection with some other people here so sometimes i have no control over the upload-bandwidth but still like to be able to play a proper game even if its lagged.. so a feature to set ping to a steady ping even if its unstable would help a lot.. i fugured, if u can ad a certain fixed amount to ping.. it should be possible to ad a variable amount too.. but maybe im wrong..

Yes, I have heard much about this protocol, but havent looked into it. It would be very exciting to add prediction code to NetQuake that doesnt Suck (some qw players are gonna hate that comment), maybe I can ask L.H. if its possible to incorporate the protocol into the Qrack engine to make it compatible.
Dark Places seems to be the best modern Quake client, FTE comes in close second, then the rest just fall into place. Having consistency among them would only strengthen our community.

I tried out DarkPlace Protocol 7 ... way too QuakeWorldy for my NetQuake tastes. But maybe there are some settings to make it better or it may have just been the server. This was only my initial impression in about 4 minutes of testing.

I have some more thoughts, but I'm increasingly impressed with DarkPlaces and will be looking over the dedicated server more when I get time. (I need to finish a little project involving the DarkPlaces client first, heh)

                        16:03:04 <gb> when I put in a sng, I think I might need nails
16:03:30 <gb> the fact that only playtesting tells me that probably means that my mind is a sieve

Since Window's last automatic update, I have noticed alot of programs hanging both at work and here. Maybe just a coincidence.

here's a few things included in 1.56, i may have forgotten something

                          [x] replace muzzle with particles
[x] fixed alias entities with fogenable
[x] support for flamethower in QMB mode for RuneQuake and FvF.
[x] changed servers.txt to servers.lst for server list file.
[x] gl_shiny, adds gloss to mirrors and metalic surfaces
                          [x] gl_nightmare mode.
[x] added watercaustics to underwater models
[x] fixed textures on cards with single TMU.
[x] fixed luma textures with gl_fog enabled
                          [x] fixed luma support.

Nah, this version hasnt been released.

But the mirror code doesnt actually draw a reflection (would be neat), it just puts a wavy texture over the stainglass texture etc...
