whats wrong with darkplaces?

i installed darkplaces correctly, but when i open it, and go to singleplayer, it looks different. in the left hand theres some kind of sword thing, and the models and sounds are different. cant hurt anybody, cant do anything. whats wrong?

Finding where it gets saved in your filesystem is another thing though, dunno how this works under Windows which I assume you use. There's probably a "darkplaces" folder somewhere.

yep cant find them, in the console its so bloody, it says by gorelord lord gore, have no idea. maybe a mod but i didnt get any mods

When it saves the screenshot, it will say "saved screenshots/xxx000001" or something.

The "xxx" is the name of the current mod's gamedir. This way you can find out what mod it is running.

Is there a darkplaces folder in your Quake directory?

yes but no screenshots folder and its DP where u wrote xxx

If it's "dp00000x.jpg" then it should be id1 you're playing... weird

Look in the darkplaces folder and also look in all subfolders in there if you find a screenshots dir anywhere.
