Is it possible to transform the DP New Lava to a teleporter? Maybe with a good new hi-res texture..
This teleporter is a fps killer..

Some teleports already uses the new dp lava.. I didn't noticed that.. And looks very good as well..


Maybe with a new texture and adding that really good looking waving shader, we'll have a new pretty teleporter with no fps impact..

Hello daniocampo,

It was not trivial, because the teleporters have always a lightsource behind them or in the very near area.
So I had to struggle with the texture to make it look good.
It looks a bit hotter now.
Also the moving and scaling was difficult compared to "DP New Lava".

In the end, I think it is a good result:
- I included the waving as you wanted.
- No fps drop !

what I really miss really is the starry waving teleporter that is used in original quake in software mode... is there a teleporter mod for that?

Hello,

please remember that this Teleporter with a lava texture is not so beautiful
compared to "DP pretty water" or the original intention behind "DP New Teleporter".

Reason:
It is NOT transparent and has therefore no swirling / distorting look/visual.
Due to the fact, that it is NOT transparent, I did NOT need to include the water specific shader which is responsible for the fps decrease.

So in the end, it will look quite similar to the "DP New Lava".
If this is OK for you, then grab it.

It's Ok, we're all aware of that Seven, but still looks very good.. It's a LOT better than the original one from DP I am using..

Seven you should try and make a QTest version Teleporter.
Basically in QTest the teleporters used the exact same texture, effect and movement as the skybox on the start map.

Added another version on request: Teleporter with Lava look

Due to the fact, that the command "dp-water" is NOT used inside the shader, you will have NO fps drop.
