I found multiupload.com an excellent solution, though I am not sure how much time the files live...

Hope no one kills me for this bump, but at least there's a good reason for it.
It seems that in latest DP builds (I am using Oct 22 autobuild right now), the teleporter shaders look different again. Especially the big round portals can have some glitches (e.g. textures flicker), and the teleport warping texture seems to look darker, too. I don't know if that is due to me adding a surface mirror effect or not, but maybe it could be checked, anyway. ^^
In general, I am still hoping for a teleporter effect which gets closer to the original visual appearance. The ones Seven provided look great ofc, but at least for me, nothing beats the classic looks.

Hello NightFright,
I know about this issue.
The issue was introduced in middle september 2011 DarkPlaces builds.
You can reduce it by changing the shader from "blendfunc filter" into "blendFunc blend".
But still, the visual is different and not nice anymore.
A new texture will most probably help.
But due to the fact, that I use DP builds before that date, it is OK for me.
I have less time now. Maybe you want to try to update it ?
If you look for different "looks", you will find them in this thread (spreaded on diff. pages)
But all of them suffer from DP code change.
@ TR2N,
no, these versions are still online:
- Ver. 1.20
- Lava Version
All other versions do only work until august 2010 (that is where the first DP code change happened).
And I highly recommend to use a newer DP build than that.
So the above mentioned "DP New Teleport" versions are still online and work until middle september 2011 DP builds.
If you want to try some other DP builds, please look into this post:

Hello Sean,
it is always nice to see more variations
Thank you.
Maybe this effect from Moon[Drunk] will fit in your shader ?
Just reduce the velocity/speed of the animation maybe ?
@ NightFright
If you want a "classic" version of the Teleporter,
just use your favorite teleporter texture and put it into the pk3 (replacing old ones).
Then delete the "dp_water" line and change or delete the "blendfunc" line in the shader file and you are done.
This will also work with the current DP builds
Have fun experimenting with it.
Regards

@ seanstar:
I am interested to see your modification in motion. The description sounds nice, maybe it turns out to be a good alternative to the waterwarp effect which happens to break every few months.
@ Seven:
Will try your suggestion. I just want an effect that looks nice, at least vaguely reminds of the original texture and cannot break (as stated above). ^^
