        Hmmm... I had actually updated the shader already. Is there something missing, or is the new heat haze effect only visible in specific maps like E1M7? On the start map, it doesn't show up for me.

          Well, I'm actually just now plopping Seven's new pk3 into my Id1 and am like you NightFright...no haze at all...nothing. I don't know what we're missing?? Seven should be on later and maybe he can guide us.

            Hello,

            you need an additional download for the "haze" effect.
            That is one of the topics we discuss in the webangels thread in the WIP subforum.

            It is not released yet.
            But that doesnt matter, I wanted to make sure, that you update to V0.3 before the other things are released. Because it is needed for them.

            Without the additional things, there is no visual difference to V0.2 for you.
            So be free to use it now already.

              While you are back working on the shader, maybe you could take a look at texture tiling. On the lava surface, there seem to be seams during animation. I think this might be due to at least one of the included textures not tiling properly. It somewhat disturbs the otherwise great animation of the whole thing.

                Hello NightFright,

                unfortunately this is not the case.
                The textures tiles perfectly.
                The issue that you described is related to another thing.
                You could use any texture you want and it would be same same.

                MH himself saw it as well and explained it:
                One final thing is that I saw some of the old GLQuake style bad-texture-joins in the hard hall in start.bsp.
                MH and myself had a little discussion about it on the start of this very thread.

                But nevermind,
                it is only visible in "hard" entrance of start map (as far as I know).

                  Yeah well, I guess it's acceptable. Just jump over that pit quickly, don't look down too much and continue with the game.

                          There is no more red light from lava in v0.3
                          Example: e1m6 - red light and shadows at this grill passage at the beginning looked rather nice before.
                          So if someone is not going to use ent files with particle effects it is better to stay with v0.2

                              Thanks. You did excellent job with lava texture and shader, it is hipnotic to look at it. Some people will prefer to not obfuscate it with particles haze, in that case it is better with v0.2. I wanted to point it to suggest reintroducing red light through custom efect in .ent file to anyone who will be implementing lava haze effects.
