    alternative player skin

many of you will be familiar with primevil's player skin already.
well I'd been messing with it a while ago and Lightning_hunter's soldier skins have inspired me to finish it up and upload it for you all to use (if you so wish of course!).
    the skin - the pic

as I mentioned above, it is basically a recolour of primevil's player skin with alternative face and added flectarn camo, not to mention some bits from the much abused qrf soldier skin! - the fact it contains qrf skin bits is why I've not released it till now and also why its in this thread!

I have not tested it properly yet (only one place to see the player in sp right? ), but I'm pretty sure it works ok.
...and before seven or anyone else asks; alas, the bump will not work with offsetmapping/parralaxing on.
if you use this setting then just ditch the _bump file as usual.
obviously this is no concern to qrack users but the main file will need renaming: from player.mdl_0.jpg to player_0.jpg

    enjoy! or not

    regards
    latchford

Teamcolors = shirt and pants color.
Hmmm I think I may at a later date do it. It's pretty simple to do. You CAN keep your current colors and then it adds the hue to it. However if you have green it will add the color to it.
So if you chose the red shirt color it would become yellow/orange in color. So best choice is to make it highly desaturated (almost greyscale) or greyscale itself on each part you want to be team colored. From the skins I've used they use the (texturename)_shirt and (texturename)_pants and those are the same size BUT the differences:
the main skin where the team colors are - you make them completely black (deleted from texture)
Then on _shirt and _pants texture you do the opposite. Make only the pants available and rest black and then only shirt and rest black.

oh, I see. Always did wonder how that worked...
            Thanks.

probably won't do it myself though, as this skin was never really a big project to me, I was just messing about really...

              classic gibs, reforged style.

Ok, In my limited free time, I've been reworking my skins for classic gib models to better match the reforge quality and I thought I'd see if there is even any interest in such a project before I release anything.

I know that a lot of dp users use rygels gibs (but I think they are ugly) but what are the qrack (and other engine) users using?

the skins themselves are a reworked high-res version of my gib3 skin, as well as a gib2 and gib1 skin made from parts of the oldone skin (with a bit of the gib3 skin thrown in for good measure)...

Ill update with a pic or two soon...

                  Hello osjclatchford,

I use these at the moment:

Only the "heart" can also be found in Rygels pack.
I cant remember where I found the other 2.
At least one of these are Ruohis work (the "corpse").

People always complain about the "corpse" one looking to much human.
Though I simply LOVE it, due to its really sticking out bones and the nice backbone.
                  Amazing Ruohis work !

I would be happy if you have a good replacement for it:
Maybe an undefinable piece of meat instead, which would fit to every monster+human.
But it must be big. Cause its the "main part" of the monsters body.

Suprise us with your talent Id say

                  Regards,
                  Seven

Due to my old PC, I've actually been using the Ruohis gib skins on the original .mdl models. My PC just isn't modern enough to handle a room full of md3 gibs when lots of monsters have been destroyed. I always keep all the best md3 models in a folder that I can use in the future - in case I ever get a better computer. I always install as many new graphics as humanly possible while maintaining the maximum fps possible. That's actually why I choose to use Qrack instead of Dark Places. You can tweak it enough that it still looks incredible, while maintaining top fps. It just has so many options that you can tweak for a good middle ground. Not to mention all the completely awesome features that R00k has added upon request for me. Even with a modern PC, I'd still use Qrack most of the time.

Whoops. Sorry to go a bit off-topic there.

Ok, I unzip to darkplaces folder but it isn't showing up in my mods menu. What can I be doing wrong? Looking for gibsv3_1 and not there.
