HD textures for SP-maps!

  • HD texture-pack for IKwhite is coming along nicely!





    only have a couple window-textures and a few rock-textures left to do

    .

    was quite easy for the most part since a lot of IKwhite textures are recolors of IKblue textures

    and for all the tapestries and paintings i actually managed to find the source-images that Iikka used for the textures
    .
    are you curious about what all there is out there in terms of HD content for quake?

        ive actually already made normals for a couple IKblue textures
        by baking normals in blender, and using gimp and photoshop to refine them
        .

        • Perfect! I'll finish the last remaining lights for IKWhite then I upload them. Did you use a skybox in those screenshots right?

          • aye, i used a skybox called 'sahara'.

            i also added custom music to the map myself, a track from nox arcana

            imo it fits perfectly to the map
            .

              • yeah its great for maps which require a bright sunny sky like egyptian and arabian maps


                also... 3 out of 6 windows done



                just 3 more versions of the same windows, 2 versions of a rock-texture (with and without window) and then one floor-texture to go.....
                and then the IKwhite texture-pack will be completely HD-ified too

                    • HD Texture pack for Terra maps, Marcher Fortress and Bastion of the underworld coming friday (I'd release them even by now, but some _norm are missing and I have to go to the house of a friend with Crazybump)

                        so expect to see the IKwhite HD pack soon after the weekend

                            Place in your main id1 folder to enable it for both maps. Textures in this archives cover about 97-98% of textures used in the maps.

                            Marcher Fortress uses custom water, so I've made the water compatible for it, this should be dropped in your marcher folder, not id1. Link here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2za6bbdxxf...Water.pk3?dl=0

                              This release uses Rygel's textures because the ones used in Terra maps are mainly "scrapped" id1 textures that are missing in QRP release, while in Rygel version they're done, so for the sake of having the same style, I've used the Rygel ones. This release is in .jpg format, because in .tga format is really too big.

                              Here I have a Retrojam4 HD texture pack, complete at 99%:
