The detail is much better! I think you just need to reduce the purple-ish color of the face a tad. The original face almost had the same color as the helmet. It might not be a good idea for the high-res skin, but I'm sure you can work something out. Can you send me a copy of this skin so I can see it in the game? It's possible the face color isn't as purple as the screenshot - but it's hard to tell.
the face definitely looks better, but I think you're best doing this skin in the style you were doing your enforcer..where you did everything 24-bit but the face and then worked off on it.

I did just that, but it seems his face in the original is so small and blurry everyone has a different idea of what it should look like. I think this one is even more similar, down to the bloody look and the creases on the sides:
I even added more bullet holes to match the original look. They are almost in the same places.
BTW, I fixed the texture alignment on this one. In the original, the texture is way off alignment. The actual skin is taller than the model. I placed the UV map over the original and the triangles are way too low. I lowered the torso and the head, centered the head and the legs and now it looks better, I think.
Edit: Is it possible, that you mod the face that he looks like a 1000 years old zombie? That was always my interpretation of the knight since i play Quake.
I must say you have the best "classic looking enforcer" skin. It's like the real enforcer except he looks crisper and better.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.
So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...
The reason for those is that I really got into it, fixing and posting. Loading the game for each shot would have taken forever (longer than loading the viewer anyway). Here are some shots in-game:

By the way, were you going to post the Scrag skin, or is it not done yet? I only see the Soldier skin for download on your blog.
...
I just posted the ogre skin. Like I said before, I will release the skins in the order in which they appear in the game, so the scrag will come after the fiend. (Please correct me if I'm wrong).

Re the Soldier skin, the purple of his clothing doesn't seem to fit the Quake palette or the Soldier colours very well, it stands out far too much.

Purple? The chest armor is pink-ish. I sampled the colors from the original and used those as a base for the new skin's colors. I'm not going to limit myself to the quake's palette when I have 16 million colors to choose from. To me, the armor needs to look like metal, that's all. Also, I ran it through Lightning_Hunter (he seems to be my main tester-feedback source) and it seemed to be fine, but I can always make a new one using different colors.
I'm planning to do new skins with different themes after I'm done with this set, so nothing's final or set in stone.
