High-res reskins for classic mods...

    Dual shotguns mod reskin!

    If you mean stuff for Painkeep then I'm afraid I've not anything planned just at the moment, as I said before I'm not at all familiar with it and my quake-machine is not online (this is my laptop) so getting familiar with it is next to impossible as it wont run on my machine in sp for some reason.
    Its a lot of guess work, for instance, to do the v_fnail skin I had to extract it and rename it to the nailgun and use it in regular quake to test it, and even then the animations don't work the same LOL!
    the thing is that PK's pak file has odd filenames so not all view weapons actually have the v_ prefix.
    to do more I'd need somone to tell me what model they want done and a screenie of it to do it!

    But I digress, heres the latest offering;

    Dual shotguns!

    this mod replaces the ssg with a pair of shotguns instead!
    pointless I know but I always liked it so I've reskinned it an made a more appropriate shotgn2.wav to go with it!

      KQP BloodDrainer reskin

      Ok next in line for KQP is the BD!

      this was quite an easy one as, back in the day, the oldskool skin had been made by nicking bits off of the 'base' textures and slapping them onto the gl and adding the hypodermic-rocket to the end!
      I thought, why change such a simple and effective plan?
      so; I used plagues gl skin as a base and added bits from the corresponding high-res texures from qrp! (all modified extensively for size, colour and lighting, of course!) and, finally, added a better looking hypodermic skin and bob'syeruncle!
      It also comes with a skin for the hypo-projectile itself, too and all have gloss,bump and glows as usual...

      enjoy or not...

      ...next up auto-launcher? should be easy as the old one is simply a remixed skin of the hypodermic-rocket! watch this space...

        As I recall, Painkeep is MP only so probably wont do much in SP mode. Unfortunately I'm not on my Quake machine else I would test this for you now. If you try something simple along the lines of quakeengine.exe -game painkeep -listen 4 it might help get you started.

              I think is a good idea to have different skin also for different weapon. For example standard/super axe with clean axe skin, while vampire axe with bloody skin, thunderbolt with classic skin and bfg with a different one (maybe a true bfg, taken from doom or quake2)

                no can do on my end but I was thinking about that yesterday .
                Alas it would require some recoding of kqp by someone more code-knowledgeable than I.
                See, the thing is that these weapons have no custom model set up for them so, for instance, the axes, excluding the disc, all use the default (or whatever your current v_axe.mdl skin is) except the world model for throwing-flaming-axe of course but thats for later on...

                same for the bfg, its coded to whatever your thunderbolt is...

                I must admit it would be nice to have some new models/skins for blaze-gun, blazethrower, nuke etc...

                      KQP Auto-Missile reskin

                      the auto-missile laucher is now up for grabs; here

                      trickier than usual, this skin, as the original was just a rip from the blood-drainer.

                      NO.
                      It was a disaster, the skin looked just as bad as what they did on the original (although it was awesome at the time) and the misplaced writing had to go, no matter what happened...
                      I also made sure not to replicate the constant 'flamey' end to the back of the missiles that was on the original as this made absolutely no sense to me.

                      Of course, the model is very large and the skin proportions very odd so It has been a real struggle to find the balance of adding more detail without making an enormous skin.
                      The end result is far from awesome but (IMO) a hell of a lot better than the original!
                      I'm most happy with the missiles themselves, over the weapon, but how can you ever really be totally satisfied with a gun thats basically large square chunk of steel with hazard stripes on one end anyway?

                          We'll have to see, (not cg for sure as that bugger is driving me mad!) probably the portal-gun first but the airfist could be in the pipeline too, depends on how I get on!

                            FvF assault rifle

                            as mentioned before I'd thought I'd give Future Vs Fantasy a look at too, so I had a peek at the goodies in the pak and knocked this skin up this afternoon.

                            only a quickie, really and not amazing at all but do with it as you will...

                                KQP Morning star reskin

                                nothing too fancy about this one but it was requested so - have at it

                                it includes skins for the 'star' and 'bit' models too...
                                I personaly think this one came out rubbish but FYI, that star is damned hard to add detail to...
