Anyone got any info on what the Ogre's feet should look like? Were there any high-poly models or clay models made as guides for the in-game model (I keep wanting to call it a sprite!)? From what I see they look like Elephant cloppers.

if you go here and get this tool, incluided with it is a more hi-poly md3 model of the ogre, which has feet modelled in

and this drawing i found half a year ago or so perfectly illustrates how i think the ogre would look like:

and hehe yeah i can totally understand why you keep wanting to call it a sprite, the original mdl by ID looks nearly as ugly as a sprite

are you curious about what all there is out there in terms of HD content for quake?

everything that is out there for quake and both mission-packs, compiled into one massive thread

hope you can make the ogre close to that drawing
and replace his weird grenade-launch thingamajig with a sack of grenades just like in that pic

would rock so incredibly much if you made a hi-poly ogre which resembled the one in that pic
        .

holy fucking shit, thats totally amazing tea monster!
looks totally awesome, how'd you do that? and especially howd you do that so incredibly fast?

              awesome work

only the eyes kinda look like he's a chinese ogre or something right now, lols

but the model so far looks totally amazing
              .

Nice. Feet are cool, torso and arms look too much like your typical superhuman game character IMO. Doom 3-ish. Personally I'd make him fatter instead of extremely muscular.

I'd also make his legs shorter and stubbier.

I know it all comes down to taste of course.

Splitterface, I'd guess it was done by use of some sculpting tool and basic knowledge of anatomy.

                      Thanks!

I've made a few alterations. I'll start on the low poly soon.

I'm using Z-Brush and I started with a basic human shape and worked him up. it took me about 2 days to get to this point. I'm using Blender to make the low poly.

                        sweet!

i like that he looks more chubby now then before, more fitting

would be nice though if the arms were more fat too though
                        especially the forearms

or perhaps its just the angle that makes his left forearm look thinner?
                        .

It's the angle. I've taken on board the crit and done some more adjustments. Arms have been changed and I've done something with the face.

That looks frikken awesome, TeaMonster! It's a shame that you have to degrade it for Quake. You can do a hell of a lot with normal maps though. I'm excited to see the further evolution of your artwork bro.

                              Great job!
