  • Just for clarification, I believe in a Holy Spirit, I believe we go somewhere when we die.

    I do not believe in any form of organized religion. Its simply politics and mind control. I've seen too many sick people using it to validate their own personality disorders rather than what it was that they were supposed to be doing.

    One caveat to that. I once went to The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King in Manchester, England. I could definitely feel a 'presence' there. That is the ONLY place of worship where I've ever felt anything like that.

    Frame 102 - some of those are just key frames that need inbetweening. Where does the official set stop? I plan to do the lot, but I was thinking of prepping a test article.

              I hope that I do not go off-topic, but I have to ask you this question... What does "derailing a thread" mean? Is it a slang expression?

              By the way, I would like to comment on the ogre... If the ogre was a human being, he would be a UFC fighter (or mixed martial artist). Who would want to pick a fight with an ogre?

              • Derailing the thread means that the conversation is going way off topic from the original post. Ogre to Religion is quite the derailment. I usually try to avoid any conversation about religion or politics. It usually ends up with no one being right and everyone feeling stronger about their beliefs. It's generally pointless.

                And I see the ogre as more of a profession wrestler. He'll do power slams and leg drops like no other!

                • haha yeah, agree with primeval. the ogre would be more like a pro wrestler or such

                  he's to blunt and dumb to be some kinda martial arts artist, so he'd totally be a wrestler or such

                  and his special move would be like, bending the enemy double over his head or such

                        Hello Tea Monster,

                        I think it is essential for you to open the original ogre.mdl in the program QME.
                        This program will show you the framegroups of the ogre.



                        Usage of each framegroup (and with it each single frame) is exactly defined in the ogre.qc file (game mechanic).
                        There are no "inbetweenframes" in the model.

                        So, basically you need to know what frame belongs to wich framegroup to be able to create the replacement ogre, because his frames must match exactly the original ogre.
                        Otherwise you would need a modification of the ogre.qc file, which should be avoided for compatibility reasons.

                        You will also see in QME that the ogre has: 147 frames in total.

                        You will find QME at quaddicted for example.

                        I guess the program you are using for the replacement ogre has only "numbers" from 0 to xxx for the frames. Simply compare these numbers with the frame names of the original ogre in QME.
                        First frame:"stand1" must be your fist frame "0" (or "1" however you tool counts).

                        • Blender automatically produces 'in-betweens' on keyframes. I have to go back and tweak them to match what the original has.

                          Frame names? Srsly? Yeah, Blender produces (frame001, frame002, etc...)
                          I've not messed with an exporter yet to see if it will do named frames.

                          Is it possible change the names in QME if the exporter dosen't support them?

                          EDIT: Problem - QME won't install on a 64 bit OS. Can someone drop a link to something that will do the job on Windows 7 64?

                            Regarding the "frame names":
                            This was a misunderstanding.
                            You do not need to give your replacement model frames any names.
                            I am sorry for my bad english.

                            What I wanted to say is, that you might first need an overview over the existing frame-groups in the original model. Yes, these frames have "names" according to the groups name in QME.
                            Example:
                            1st animation is the stand animation. The frame group�s name is "stand". 1st frame in this group is "stand1".
                            It ends with "stand9".
                            2nd animation is the walking animation. The frame group�s name is "walk". 1st frame in this group is "walk1".
                            It ends with "walk16".

                            So your replacement animation starts with lets say "1" fame and frame "9" is the last standing animation frame. Frame "10" must be the first walking animation, wich ends with frame "25". And so on.

                            QME will help you very good to see the single framegroups and what they do.
                            Your replacement , model does not need to have those names, but it must follow the original order of frames. Otherwise it will not match the situation. But you are aware of it already I guess.

                            QME runs in Win7 64-bit just fine.
                            Installing might have difficulties.
                            I wanted to uploaded my installed version, but rapidshare makes problems.
                            It is only 4MB in size, but this forum does not allow attachmenets of this size.
                            Maybe someone else can upload it for Tea Monster ?
