Cant believe we are nearing the release of this to the theaters soon! Found another trailer....looks like it will be a very classy sequel beyond what I had hoped was possible in film today. What I do miss are those neat helmets and the makup that made the characters look like real computer programs though.
I'm wanting to see this, hope it doesn't flop like Skyline did. I had high expectations for that film and it felt like I was watching an intro the whole time.
the original was Disney ? i forgot that shit...
i think this will satisfy teh "Tronners"

He was the main star at the lone star film festival in fort worth last weekend. He was being awarded some life time achievement and showing off some movies. He was also playing in a concert with some other country music singer.
I volunteered to help work parts of the festival and one of things i got to do was pick up his music gear from his hotel room. (2 guitars) He was there obviously. There was like 3 other people in the room so it is not like we held a conversation or anything. Just said hi, etc. He seems to be a really cool. He signed soooo many autographs every day he was there. Always stopping and talking to people. He didnt appear to be a diva.

Yea, actually Disney was the only company at the time that had the manpower and resources that the director needed in order to produce the desired results. Disney had just came off a kind of disappointing entry into the booming 80's sci-fi movie trend with ' The Black hole '. I thought Disney's special effects in that movie had alot of potential , and some of the things they were testing with Tron at the time, they used some leftover props from that movie, and were interesting. Learned all this on the Tron special edition DVD I got a couple of years ago, another highly recommended item for Tron nerds everywhere.
I think Disney benefitted alot from this early gamble, because they were able to evolve alot of the specially developed animation technology gear to produce animated movies like Aladdin, Lion King and all the Toy story movies that they still are making today. In the DVD they said Tron nearly had a [G] rating until the end, where Tron spills Sarks brains out in the final battle.
