    Yeah, it will certianly take more power to run a bunch of fans on a rad and a pump than it will to run one or 2 fans on a good aftermarket hsf. There's also extreme measures like peltier and phase change, but that's a whole lot of crap to go through...

      i opted out of water cooling but my next system might be WC. This current system has 9 fans in it 4 of them were 200 Cubic Feet a Minute fans.. however, the thing is louder than an airplane so i have since taken those 4 out and replaced with much more silent running ones. I was able to OC everything in my system without any issues even on some pretty high settings.

        My roomate in school tried to build a computer inside a minifridge order to keep everything cool. Bad idea. He ended up with a motherboard submerged in water because of condensation.

        I heard people have had success putting their computer in a tank of cooled mineral oil. A little overkill, but the title does say "Xtreme"...

          Condensation's a bitch. Chilled water, phase change, liquid nitrogen... watch out for water. That's another reason why I like air cooling...
