  • since when does biosuit protect you from discharging? seems kinda overpowered to me. Is that in all mods or just the one on ctf.quakeone.com.

    Also, ctf.quakeone.com needs a better map rotation, in my opinion. Additionally, e4m7 probably needs some item placement tweaking; there probably shouldn't be a pent on the map as well.

      Biosuit is pretty useless except on e1m1 and e4m6:"the pain maze". In pub mode i added it to protect you as newbs always DC'd the FlagCarrier coming out of RED base on that map (e4m6). Vote Pent OFF!! I hate unless its 8 vs 8!

        In vanilla quake it doesn't protect you from discharge so not all mods are like that. Runequake and Clan Arena X has discharge disabled entirely.

          I know that (well, not about runequake, as I don't play that mod). I posed that question because I was shocked to learn that was the case. I guess the pain maze is the only map that's really affected by it. And there is an abundent amount of bio suits on the level. Makes it interesting.

            r00k, it's not a matter of voting the pent off, it's a matter that every other level that has a pent, the pent has been removed (as far as i know). Also, many of the maps have had their items rearranged and moved around-see e2m3 (is there even a red armor on this level anymore).

                  I agree, some maps like E2M2, E1M1, and others now have balanced weapons.
                  Though, some maps have been altered too far. I dont like most of the original ctf converted maps, (e2m3) you could get regen and flag and just hide at the start area. You can do the same thing on E4M3 under blue base, or on E1M3, if the blue flag was returned before the platform came down, it would get pushed off the map!

                  • yo rooky, i have a suggestion, based on our match on your modified E1M1 the other night. You should put back in the door that's underneath where the pent usually is, near the bridge by the start. It seemed like red base was much harder to defend than blue base (with its long tunnels), and putting the door back in would slow them down just a touch

                            Ya, I still have the originals, but not the one i modified. So i'll have to go back and do it over again.

                            • Dudes! We had about five hours of CTF Sunday evening! Some great games. One game ended by a telefrag that was caught in the end game camera!



                              Teams were reasonably balanced considering we had no more than a 3 vs 3 game for the night. I asked for an 8vs8 game tho!!

                              I have demos of the games for your enjoyment but no where to host the files.
