Spooker I just keep an eye on the servers listed on the quakeone.com home page. If people are on a ctf server, I join up!

We had lots of good games tonight! Best CTF night for the 'ctf revival' so far, perhaps! We had a few 5 vs 5 games, and one game there were eleven on at once! I have demos and screenshots but am too tired to post them now. Where can I host the demos? imageshack won't let me do that...

Definitely the most amazing night of CTF I have had in years. We played from 10 pm sunday night till 5 am monday morning.....no joke! all the games were so close and I was on the edge of my seat for most of them. thanks for coming guys, i had a blast--especially LittleMe and Rook, the troopers who stayed for the whole 7 (SEVEN!) hours! lol, are we sane? anyways, probably about 20-25 different people showed up over the course of the night. Hope to see everyone again next week, same time--10 pm EST every sunday night. GGs

I would play but it would just be boring for me.

if u can run around a dm3 map and gather the requirements to frag in a time-based manner, how is ctf boring? Dm is all about timing. CTF is all about teamplay and tandem communication!

most early dm player were put off at ctf, cause DM uses linear thinking of "get weapon- kill -get ammo-kill -get weapon- kill, if they dont get my stuff they die", ctf is like football get the ball score, in the mean time to counter the capture fuckn kill him (this requires gettin a weapon) oh and btw all dm tactics also are valid in ctf.

                    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CTF is DM + football!!! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Most GOOD DM players who can handle a hook == OWNAGE

I find Mckinley Base (ctf1) really annoying with it's non smooth walls and ceiling. I can get a good bunny hop going 1/3 of the time when my hook doesn't catch one of the edges of sides and top. If the ceiling and walls weren't so jagged, you'd see me speedrunning the entire map.

trudat yo. you might find "Remix", a smoothed out version of mckinely base (in the LOC map pack, ctf3m1 i think) a bit better. but it still could be improved. dude, snipes, you made so many attempts on our base last sunday it was outrageous

Do you enjoy the game because of the grappling around or the strategy and tactics, or both? I like CTF1 because it's not a grapple-friendly map. I don't like games where the grapple is the most powerful weapon. I like quake because it's a shooter, not a tarzan swinging remake. The grapple adds a lot to CTF but Red Alert with you guys who are REALLY good with the grapple combined with the fast grapple speed makes it a chasing game, not a shooter.

I had a lot of rum and coke before I played. I probably wanted to keep the pressure on your base.

I have many ideas for ctf quake that I'd like to add to improve strategy/teamwork and gameplay but it's not like anyone would play it.

Completely disagree, I reguarly drop 30-40 kills with close to 200 frags due to capturing the flag.

Red alert is not just about your hook speed, its about your ability to control bases, play defense, shoot while im in midair, and return your flag, there are many tactics to playing red alert.

Its definitely up there as one of my favorite maps.

If you guys start playing CTF more, i will comeback strictly for CTF games, no CA at all.

You guys should try Cheat2, incredible map for defense, offense, and middle control, its really well made and quite strategic. Same goes for capturephobolis.
