CA Cash Prize Tournament - RAGEATHON 1

Rook has mentioned to me in the past about QTV and setting it up. I dont know anything about it though. Is this something extra you have to setup on the server side?

I might not be envisioning it correctly but I see it like this:

Software on Rage:26005 sends some type of feed to Software on Rage:26004 (viewing server) Everyone connects to 26004 to watch.

Would someone care to set me straight or elaborate on how QTV works exactly? I am interested in making this work in future games.

Whoever's operating the QTV will need to be on-hand the entire time, as the autochase feature at RAGE tends to break,and the motions you SEE don't lineup with anyone player on the screen. It's random, but would really suck if it broke mid-matches and observers on a different port had no way of correcting it.

On another note, with it being 1v1 tournament, until the signups breach 16 players I wouldn't stress the observers category too awful much, someone could just take recorded matches/demos and upload to Youtube, and that end product could generate interest from the YouTube aspect.

Also, I would like to thank you again. I've participated in as many organized Quake events as I have been able to manage, glad I'll be able to be apart of Rageathon 1

Planetnine, you should logon at Rune Quake - A QuakeC Modification for Quake and Quakeworld and go to the message boards, message Slot-Zero (signup if you havent), and ask him to host a CAx port on quake.crmod.com or quake.shmack.net.

The server is located in St. Louis, which is generally about the same ping as Chicago for most people.

Then again, that takes away the "Rageathon" tittle.

i can convert zero to cax on a whim. CAX already loaded on the server. All Disco needs to do is tell me when I can convert within 30 seconds.

I threw it up. It's gonna not show full size no matter what because we size it down for the front page. I know Mindz also messaged PlanetQuake the news about the tournament and a few others I think.
