    You can tell it is Quake 3 by the lighting, shadows, sky shaders, fog shaders, light shaders, clearness and the amount of detail in the graphics.

          Not anymore. I could make my Q1 look identical to Q3. I play with fog in my Q1, have various shaders and many md3 models.
          Honestly you cannot tell anymore. You could port this to Q1 in Darkplaces and have it look identical (if not better).

            Even if I see a Darkplaces map using Q3 textures, I can easily tell if it is Quake 1.

                Pk3? That is not playable in Quake 1, and this is a Quake 1 community.

                I would love to take your map out for a spin but I cannot play it in Quake 1 (or can I?)

                If you convert it, I would like to play it - as DM6 is my favorite level and I like any possible variant of it. ;p

                Further more, judging from the pics I think it is scaled too big - although I like the extra room for maneuvering; it also seems a bit dark.

                It would be great if this map could be played on the servers; as it is, your efforts are appreciated.

                Could there be an experimental server where users upload maps and play them versus bots?

                          My pic was of DarkPlaces engine, which is the host engine for the mod Nexiuz.
                          It also can load pk3 files, and can also render q3bsp maps. So, yes your map should load in DarkPlaces.
