why dislike the other quakes?

hey Just wondering, Why do you guys seem to have a strong dislike for other quakes? (even quakeworld!) just wondering.

The only quake I honestly don't like much is quake 2. The graphics make me want to puke. I just wonder what's wrong with all the other quakes that you guys seem to dislike with a passion

I dislike Quake3 because it doesn't feel like quake at all. It feels like CounterStrike without the strategy. Quake3 is all about big guns and aiming. Quake1 is all about ninja stealth instant rocket in the back attack!

Quake 1 is da bomb! Quake 3 tried to repeat the Quake 1 formula, and it's pretty close, but it ain't the real slim shady.

I guess I resent the other Quakes because they aren't actual Quake sequels. I mean, Doom II was a improvement of Doom I ... but the one true Quake has never had an actual sequel.

If they called Quake 2 and Quake 4 "Strogg Wars" or something instead of "Quake", I wouldn't dislike them as much. They aren't Quakes!

And elivmeman, theres a opengl option in the video manu of Quake2. Ag you kids today... all about graphics and no appriciation for a game... *cough* MONSTER *cough*

Q2 can look really good, but you have to change some def settings through the config which aren�t available in the menus, also the colored lighting looks really crap in 16 bit mode, it really needs 32 bit. I think the slow weapon switch is ok, because you either have the right weapon at the right time or not, makes it more tense and intuitive.

I like Q2 because it gives me that feeling I�m a marine with bad ass weapons and stuff but it still is all-out terror as Quake should be and not some "realistic" crap.Also the sound of the game are awesome.

the moment i sat down to play quake 2 i instantly HATED it.

quake 1 - is speed chess with killing
quake 2 - is a crappy video game
