well look at Q4 (which I) haven�t played yet), there is a reason the weaponswitch is slow, there is a delay on the railgun etc..

with all the advantages ppl have nowadays like like overclocking usb, optical high precision mice, high speed connections, low sens scripts etc, where is the skill then when all you need is to spend some more money and time tweaking ?

yes QW is clean and fast but even the rl requires skill, whereas a high damage weapon like rail at low ping requires just point and click :l

On that note, while I was picking up a game today (Darwinia=Awesome), I stumbled across the Ultimate Quake, the first three games. Had it come with any extras, I might have picked it up solely to have new copies of the games. (Mine are all first day)

Ultimate quake was what I was waiting for since 2002. I knew a quake pack had to come out some point. So once I saw it at bestbuy I was like omgwtf MUST GET IT!!!

Yes, it transends the boundaries of RTS to say the least. It's almost as big a contributer to the genre as Homeworld. Strange enough, they both share the same type of "hopeless story."

But I'd say Ultimate Quake is a smart buy, purely because it's calibrated for new equipment.
