There are people wishing to experience enhanced game play through a broader map range; that is also quite difficult considering all players are stacked on one server playing the same map.

You're right that trash talk is part of the game, and I have endured it for much a large part of my "Quake Career" if you would like to call it that .
However, trash talk should only be taken to a certain extent. The server should not be diminished by trash talk, its a wave that seems to carry on and on throughout each game and unfortunately helps dismantle its reputation rather than help build it. As Phenom said many times the rebuilding efforts are vastly increased, but this is another factor that play a role in helping to destroy the game, not just map changes.

I still believe the game has a lot of life, I play console games with friends mostly and I am uninterested in the new breed of online computer games. I find Quake strategic, simple, fast pace, and action oriented, and instinctively favorable. I was a supporter of playing DM3 only before, but I realize this, to form a group of casual quakers into a more solidified core will require an amicable atmosphere, as well as a diversified map rotation.
      Point taken.
