Roots Chi CAx needs 2 admins.

roots.quakeone.com is looking for 2 more admins.

Drama2 is currently the only admin.

If you feel like you are down for the job of helping people's problems out in quake and regulating the server when needed to then respond to this thread stating so. As the founder of the Roots Chi CAx server I see this as an even playing field for all players who do not disrupt the game (i.e spamming text in general, racist comments and especially cheating.).

There will be no perma bans on Roots. only temp bans. I expect anyone who becomes an admin on roots.quakeone.com to NOT use their admin for fun. Killing, banning,kicking, muting, removing from team is only to regulate the game, not for personal revenge.

All admins should take their personal beef out of any situation and deal with it like a grown adult would.

Also, I expect admins not to pick favorites. If a player has a problem with one of the Roots admins and vise verse message me either through pm on quakeone.com or through these instant messangers or email

Ok Phenom I'm sorry I'm going to have to turd up your nice thread here for a minute...

But we need to discuss something.

From my perspective, there are no two players in the quake community I've spent more time and effort trying to get along with than you your new pal drama2. I don't expect you to value my time, but I value my time, and I've spent a lot of it trying to resolve issues with you.

Two months ago you sent me a PM saying:

Lets just put all that BS drama we had in the past behinds us? hows that sound?
we're all making an effort to restore Quake.
*If you want ro run Rage however you want to thats fine. I salute you for your efforts.
Lets just get back to the issue at hand which is resurrecting Quake!
I apologize if I've sad some nasty things towards you but I also expect you to be man enough to look past all the BS! besides, we both are server admins that want to provide for Quake!

I replied that I don't hold on to shit, consider it water under the bridge, and also told you about a similar attempt I had made a few months prior, through a less than helpful intermediary:

In September I sent Baker a PM that said "hey lets break the old bomber.quakeone.com domain away from rage, make it a custom maps server running FIVE (i.e. not 75) nice custom maps, run it off hdz, and you and I and phenom admin it to bury the hatchet."

I also pointed out that I had publicly stated you could have the bomber.quakeone.com name back if you asked for it.

His response was the rather odd PM titled "Rage, Bomber, other things" which was cc'ed to you.

A week or so later I talked to sole, who told me Baker asked him to redirect the bomber.quakeone.com domain, and implied I knew of this and had agreed. I told him, don't bother to switch it back, I don't care, he can have it.

(Then you setup bomber.quakeone.com like I had suggested, and now roots as well.)

Anyways, since then, I have been nothing but decent to you. You come on the server I say hi, join a team, etc. I telll others to lay off with the racist comments etc.

Yet as soon as everyone's favorite forum whore starts up some shit again... you jump on board with "Yellow Is Quake Enemy #1". And quick put up another chicago CAx server to "help the community".

Oh yes, and when I come to play on your server today, you immediately start talking shit to me about how I have a lot of nerve to show up there?

I'm only responding to this because the rest of the BS IS water under the bridge. anyway..

I said "This server must be fun if Yellow no.5 showed up" Meaning you don't travel far from populated servers. I actually enjoyed having you there and plan on seeing you there more often. But its a known fact you only play on servers you admin, or might have the opportunity to admin.

If this is because I mentioned that I am "Not going to waist the last admin slot on you" I apologize if the harshness of my words left a scar on your ego, but this is the truth. I do not feel that you are stable enough to have admin and not abuse it every now and then.

I have noticed you are very quick to talk crap to someone then when they do the same to you, you use your admin powers to retaliate, usually mute'ing them then continuing to mock them and talk more crap. Don't take this as a personal punch, its been witnessed by many, hence why I would even mention not waisting an admin slot on you. I'm sure many other people will agree with my decision here.


Like I said in the first paragraph, I'm not even going ot comment on what happened so long ago, I agreed to call a truce but that doesn't mean I am going to have your back 24/7, but when I feel you deserve it.

As for trying to help, I seen people getting muted, kicked and banned feeling its unfair therefore I switched roots.quakeone.com to CAX. If you feel that banning people or muteing them then continuing to talk crap to them is helping you must be smoken something

If you want it to be in direct competition between speaknow and Roots, I personally don't have time to waist and I would hope that you can see I am not the only person who considered opening up another Chicago CAX server to deal with the "admin abuse" that goes on at speaknow.

I would appreciate it if you left the past in the past and deal with the now.

I don't hate you Yellow no.5 but if people want a server where they don't have to worry about being "babysitted" by admins or even harassed Speaknow and Rage isn't the place to go.

That whole paragraph is so deeply flawed and loaded, but I don't feel like writing a book.

Phenom gave the Bomber to QuakeOne with the assurance from me that if he ever was able to host a stable server again in the future he would get the name back.

Why would I lead Sole to believe anything? Phenom didn't give "you" the name to use. Bomber wasn't ... or at least so everyone thought until months later ... Yellow No. 5's personal server. Not even you thought that. Until several months later you decided it was your personal server.

The agreement was that for taking down his server and merging them into one, he would get admin...hence my attempt to remedy the situation. I made it clear I was ultimately in charge from the begining. I can dig out my chat logs if you really want. Rage never became "Yellow No. 5's personal server" what happened was everyone involved all wanted different things, including you attacking everyone for only choosing to play dm3, and banning players for using "improper languge". The server changed because when it was setup it was setup for newbs, and the people who talked about how they wanted custom maps etc on the forums. But they didn't show up to play...the ca+ and #quake1 community did. We didn't intend to kill of ca+, we were actually trying to expand the community, hoping there would be a "pro" mod and a more accessible one. But when the ca+'ers came and the others did not, they made requests for what they wanted. That changed the server a lot, though I made sure to keep it fairly newb friendly.

You're bitter and think I ruined it or imposed my harsh oppressive 3rd reich of CA or whatever...but you were hardly ever there and just quite entirely when you couldn't get people off dm3.

Clearly you have a hard time accepting you're not always right. Am I the first person to point this out? You do a lot for the community, so I generally try to ignore the crap you propagate about me.

I was the one that discussed the idea with Phenom and then tried to get you to go along with the idea so their would be unity and no one would feel they were getting taken advantage of.

I had no idea I needed to keep records of chat logs.

The deal was simple enough, the Bomber name would be Phenom's but QuakeOne would be using it and he'd get admin on the server, but you'd be the head admin.

This was the arrangement I had discussed with Phenom and then you. Phenom was initially resistant to the idea, and you didn't really care either because you felt Bomber was unimportant.

I would be interested in seeing the logs where this was "your idea". You didn't even know Phenom, show me the logs where you approached him with this idea or where you came up with the idea talking to me.

I could discuss the other, but I only brought this up because you mentioned my name in a thread I didn't post in and implied that I tried to deceive Sole or something. I'm argumentative, but I'm honest as hell. I don't do things behind people's back or anything like that and was offended by that paragraph.

Well you apparently thought it was your idea when I told you what I was doing, whether you helped convince him or not. Of course I already knew him, I played with him on shmack 26002 and bomber-ironrocket, etc. Ask Phenom if you want to...he was even mad at me later because he said I convinced him to give me the name when he could have just had hdz host it for him. This wasn't the case though...it took a lot of work to get vis/ava to agree to host it for me and said only me rook and bam could have access to the server. Only later did they not really care and hosted other servers for frenzy, phenom, etc.

You were wrapped up in DM+ at the time, you thought CAx was a lost cause because it crashed every map while Bam was ironing it out. I liked DM+ much better myself but I didn't feel CAx was a lost cause, but acknowledged it still needed much work.

You and I talked and you and I both agreed Phenom had delivered a fatal blow to bomber.ironrocket.com by publicly announcing it was going to be shut down and then changing his mind.

You had setup ca.quakeone.com as a result and I thought that had a mighty deceptive feel to it, so I tried to talk Phenom into shutting down Bomber with idea of ca.quakeone.com using bomber.quakeone.com instead.

Phenom and Bryant were jointly paying for the server and the idea of shutting down his server was a bitter pill to swallow for him, and I had assured him the name would still be his and that he'd have admin. Then I approached you with this idea and I had to persuade you it was the right thing to do, because you were indifferent to it and it didn't matter to you.

I had felt promoting a ca.quakeone.com right after Bam had done much of the debugging on Bomber with Phenom with Bomber still running would seem incredibly deceptive.

I was the one that approached Phenom with the idea of shutting down bomber.ironrocket.com and he was NOT comfortable with the idea at first. It took him a few days to come around.

/Is this jogging your memory? Next time I can save screenshots and chat logs and all the goodies.

Add: By the way, if I had ever know you 2 would never get along ... well, I wish I knew that long ago. In many ways, this was my fault in trying to force both of you to do something neither of you really wanted to do. Such a shame, because both of you do a lot of things for the community. Yes, I didn't "force" either of you to do it, but I am rather persistent (as in I push things really hard and usually keep coming back if someone doesn't agree, etc.) and I didn't see this happening, that's for sure.

You do have to at least play Clan Arena enough to be recognizable on anyone of the CAX servers.

Default admins are (If they choose to be admin) R00k, Bam, Baker. These guys are essentially the workhorses of CAX's behind the scene, client & mod development and I trust them enough. This is not the actual admin line up, the three listed people above pretty much deserve/need admin dew to server development.

You do have to at least play Clan Arena enough to be recognizable on anyone of the CAX servers.

Phenom, SatooN is a 100% runequake player and is probably only asking you for admin to have admin (for whatever reason) to a quake server.

I'll take admin if you want it used properly. I don't think I need to list my credentials, or why it's a better idea than say, someone like yellow 5. Suffice it to say I would be willing to admin it the way other people on the server want, and would not be employing the ban feature.
