I'll make 2 different client side download paks for players and 1 full ready-to-go server package for someone who runs a server either tonight (late) or sometime tomorrow evening.

Then I'll see about getting someone with FTP to the HDZ servers to upload it.

I don't expect the NQ Team Fortress 2.5 to have vote-map, btw.

Use TF 2.8 but I'm not sure, also you can check vote40.

TF 2.5 is the last open source one; TF 2.8 isn't open source so there isn't really any way to modify it ["improve it" ... like adding vote-map].

I'm playing with the mod a little to make it so it doesn't require -game xxxx, which would be inconvenient to say the least.

A few hours out [from having downloads ready ... this doesn't mean a server is running it]. Need to do proper testing [then I'll bug someone, probably Phenom or Rook, to see if some unused or lightly server can run this at least temporarily].

also, does anyone know where I can get the full version of quake1 and tf an all that good stuff? apparently i lost the CD that i had my full quake folder on. All i have is a mini version for playing tf on qw.

There is no server to use these on, the server files will be coming later.

/Note: If you have ThreeWave CTF, the Team Fortress flag.mdl and flagcap.wav override those. Minor issue, I'll figure it out some other time.

I've not played enough Team Fortress to know how this stacks up against Team Fortress 2.8 and I'd bet the Quakeworld versions that the Team Fortress server operators enthusiasts have made is better.

However, that said being said, this ...

#1 Gives hardcore NetQuake players a chance to play this on an NQ server.

#2 Maybe after getting a few NQ players to try this, you might be able to get to them to play on your preferred QW server.

And hey, many of the NQ players ... even the badasses that win CTF and DM games without ever dying ... probably haven't played Team Fortress in years would find it a challenge.

A Quakeworld player would certainly want to use Qrack (Qrack page) if playing on an NQ server. Someone accustomed to the ezQuake look would probably think the GLQuake look of ProQuake is antiquated. Qrack is a lot like ezQuake.

Extra note: FTEQW does NOT perform well on NetQuake servers, at least the last time I checked. The experience is like watching a high speed slide show. Just giving a heads up on that. FTEQW is a great engine, but not for connecting to a NetQuake server.

Note:

The above server download contains open source versions of the Quake maps and even the models data so it's entirely legal. The server doesn't render the maps or models so it doesn't matter that they don't look right. The server doesn't know the difference.

So the above can be unzipped on a Windows server and the .bat file can be run and it's ready to go with everything.

Edit: My Quake and TF Folders are set up. I've got a lot of people from qw/tfc/tf2 saying they wana play and can bring other people. Just awaiting a server.
