  • What do you play Quake on?

I think the title explains itself. I was just wondering what kind of hardware+software you all are playing Quake on. Right now I'm using a Dell Inspiron 1000 with 256MB of RAM, no hardware acceleration (no OpenGL) and a 30GB hard drive (280GB external drive). I play Quake; WinQuake to be exact, on Gentoo linux with wine from git, and I play Quake III on Windows.

    So how about you?

I build my own computers. This is the computer I do everything on:
      -Athlon64 x2 7750 Black Edition 2.7GHz (foqclocked to 3.0)
      -4GB DDR2 800 (foqclocked to DDR1000)
-9600GSO 96 shader model (still messing around with it)
      -Biostar TF720 A2+ motherboard
      -Antec NeoHE 550w power supply
      -250GB SATA 3.0Gbps, 500GB SATA 3.0Gbps
-SATA DVD Burner (and DVD ROM as well)

And the other computer sitting about a meter away is my internet gateway/Quake server:
      -Pentium 3 750MHz
      -3x256MB PC133MHz (registers as 512MB 100MHz though)
      -Chaintech 6BTM0 motherboard
      -Geforce 4 MX4000
      -40GB IDE hard drive
-some bum IDE CD burner that only works half the time
      -400w POWMAX power supply

I forgot about the old dell dimension 4100 in my garage. I think the case is the only original piece left from it, my friend gave me it so I can set up a quake/quake 3 server on it. Need to figure that out.

The machine has 256MB of RAM (I think), a 10GB hd, Pentium III 75?~MHz, and a dvd drive that doesn't work.

I have a 2 years old PC actually, that is based onto a HP Pavilion I bought 4 years ago (initially the graphic card was a ATI radeon 9200 SEC)

                  But today I have:

                  - AMD Athlon 2600+
                  - Nvidia GeForce FX 5950 Ultra
                  - 768MB RAM
                  - HDD IDE 120GB

I have several games installed that are running in the highest possible graphic resolution like a charm, as known as
                  - Doom / Doom 2 (using Doom Legacy)
                  - Quake (obviously)... FitzQuake / aguirRe's GLQuake are my prefered engines
                  - RTCW
                  - Half Life 2
                  - Doom 3
                  - Call of Duty 2
                  - Quake 4

Here it is... and I'm already thinking to buy a brand new PC in order to be able to play others games my machine is not supporting due to graphic card lack of performances, of RAM requirements, etc... like (Ghost Recon Advanced War Fighter, L4D, FEAR, etc..)
