What time is Quake set in? To me it seems somewhere in the Medieval Times. Anyone know what exact time it is set in?

Technically, it's set in the not-quite-so-distant future.
However, you're constantly traveling between dimensions of different time planes (and obviously different worlds).
Hope that helps...Check out my awesome Deviant art page!
Quake fanart (obviously included)!

Back in the latter years when Ogres and Scrags freely roamed the fields in Ireland.Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.
So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

After I read some of the new book ' masters of doom' (Masters of Doom - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) which is a biography about I think John Carmack the founder if ID software, I got an insight into why I think Quake turned out they way it did. Its not really set in a time period of our understanding, its roots are from the RPG, Dungeons and Dragons. He use to play games like ZORK on the computer, and I think also Castle Wolfenstien on the early PC's like the C=64. If you look at Quake, its a hash between a D&D style world, and the world of today or the future. I use to play real D&D with some high school friends in the early 80's, and I remember one of our next adventures was suppose to be a module where the Dwarves (who live underearth) found some kind of portal into another world, and were bringing back weapons and other stuff that were found in our world of today. We never got to play that module, but it sounds like it would be something like Quake. Maybe Carmac got to play that module. From what I read , he also played D&D alot in those days.

Quake was going to be a better Game, but John Carmack accidentally stripped nearly all of Quake. If it's set in Medieval Times then why does seem as if in some Levels, in modern times? And why do they have Teleporters? Probably the word didn't even exist back then. What if they didn't strip Quake? Probably would've been better & much more funner. Did you know that Quake III Arena & Doom III use to be much, much better? Does anyone know where I could find Screenshots & Downloads of Quake before?
