I'm Mercurius FM. I got hooked on FPS's when DOOM came out for DOS, I played it on an Acer computer kit my dad assembled. Eventually, Quake came out which was a natural progression for me. At that point, I was using a Mac. I dabbled in some Quake map design, but never published anything. Fast forward to 2014, I make electronic music, graphic design, and more. I still regularly play Quake 1 on my Macbook Pro and enjoy the awesome work of the mod community.Last edited by mercuriusfm; 05-29-2014, 03:56 PM.

Stormer, checking in.
Hello. Screen name since 1996 is Stormer. I started playing Duke Nukem on TEN (total entertainment network) then, Quake1 came out. Played it on TEN and also MPlayer. I was in clan L.A. or Lucifer's Angels. Later renamed to K9. Quake2 came out... got into call of duty after that. Just redownloaded quake 1, played it a little bit and remembered how much fun it was. Set it up on my Son's computer and we played it over our lan like the good o'l days. ha!

I'm going to try. I used to live in a house next to my brother. We dug a trench and ran a lan cable from his house to mine so we could network quake. ha! I'm thinking about getting him back into it so he can play from Alaska while I'm in the lower 48.Originally posted by Syluxguy28O3 View Postwelcome! hope you can make some new quake memories!

OK, cool. My introduction post.
My name is Mike, I'm 30 and live in the UK. My first experience with the Quake series was a pirated copy of Quake 3 on the Dreamcast back in 2000. After playing that online for about 2 years, I bought my first PC back in 2002 when I was 18 and bought the PC version which I loved.
Eventually, both versions of the game kinda died off online from what I remember and didn't play much Quake 3 at all until Quake Live was released as a beta. LOVED that, but then they split the community by charging players which ruined the entire thing for me...
Only bought Quake 1 and 2 recently, but love them as single player games. They're still so playable despite being so old.
Playing Quake 1 right now through the single player 100% on nightmare, which brings me here.Last edited by bear; 06-21-2014, 07:06 AM.
