Here's the story, I had to get a new graphics card because my NVidia GeForce was dying. So I decided to get this "very good" expensive ATi graphics card; ATi Radeon HD 5700 Series. Now that I have it installed, inserted, etc. I can't run certain games, I can run Quake but not with OpenGL, I can run Quake 2 in windowed-mode because when I use fullscreen with software settings the colors fuck up and when I try using OpenGL it crashes.

Now you guys are kinda scaring me! I'm looking at getting a new system from ibuypower and it comes with an ATI 6870. What are the member experiences with this card? I am looking at perhaps an Nvidia instead, but need to stay within budget. I have an X1650 in an old AGP rig and it does give me problems with Quake without the -bpp32 in the command-line. Please give me your thoughts guys.

I'm using a 5770 CrossfireX solution from ASUS, and I couldn't be happier. I concur with AAA , don't stress because games created in 1996 and 1998 are TEMPORARILY not working with your 2011 video card. Some games I thought would be fixed because I upgraded videwo cards DIDN'T!!! (Fallout 3:GOTY edition, remained a crashy peice of shit!)
I garuntee you will be satisfied with your purchase once you've worked out the kinks!!
ATI Radeon? Video Card Drivers <- 5series 64bit Win7.
I'm using 32bit Win7 , and the apps in question are 32bit AFAIK.
I've re-read your post a couple times and think could use some more details.Want to get into playing Quake again? Click here for the Multiplayer-Startup kit! laissez bon temps rouler!

There's the DLL by itself
OoPpEe,
Thanks for the download of the dll. You are meaning the exe of the engine of my choice (DP) correct? I'm also using other engines like Fitzquake, Qrack, Telejano, Tenebrae, and Tomaz, do I do the same there or..
Sorry for the hassle.
