Precisely, and the fn Airshot mode of CAx is by its current incarnation :

-Connect & GO
-Free For All
-Only damage is dealt while your not touching the ground.
-Has no Frag Limit
-Gives you ALL weapons
-Splash damage will damage opponents if they are in air


most "AirShot" elitist players play these rules;

1v1 on map endif only
first to 10 wins
NO SHAFT
NO USING THE BOUNCE,THEN SPLASH THEM OVER AND OVER UNDER THEM (CAX BOUNCE TACTIC OWNS U BITCHES)

No, im making fun of the situation. MADE UP RULES are what your pissed about. The mod was not designed with the fn ruleset you guys are playing with.
Baker knows dick about Airshot mod in CAx.
Baker did not realize by just connecting to the server it could be ruining a game in progress.
He had no clue about the mod auto-spawning him into the game.

you could have done as others have said and communicated
TYPE OBSERVER IN CONSOLE, its straight forward request/command/whatever.

But being a dick is the winning way.

It's true, airshot was added around 2006, and only as a "practice mode" sub-mod. Kinda like instagib. No rounds, no teams, no score limit. EndIf has become the default map of the few players who wanna play. Unfortunately Brian doesnt want me updating the mod on the HDZ box cause he is content with version 1.90. Baker's only intention was to play a game with Wolv to patch up any past conflict. Assuming he is working on realtime stats and serverside banning mechanics, he probably wanted everyone to start out with a clean slate. Intentionally he meant no harm, though, mistakenly walked into the party wearing the only costume. Shit happens, it's just a game....

Airshot should only do dammage with direct hits. No splash damage, i mean, wtf.

Not to hound Krixstopher but you do rage on people a little fast. I dont play that much either and hadnt logged into quake in over 2 months. So about a month ago or so I connected to one of the CA servers and had to do something right away, phone, baby, drink, something. I come back to the screen and it was on the map airshot and krix is yelling obscenities and calling me names to get out.

At first i was like Krix, its me disco, why the hostilities but i just ignored him and stayed in the game at that point which they left after that. So it was kind of a nice welcome back from Krix.

That could have been a new player or someone coming back from quake in which it might have turned them off the game.

All im saying is change airshot to match mode only, dont play airshot on the main heavily used pub servers, or just chill a bit and dont go ballistic on people right away.

Other than that I have always thought Krix was/still is the 2nd coolest guy in DM behind Turtlevan.

Exactly, and the recent out-of-norm status quo rife between players is just no longer amusing. Today some guy name'd TROLL showed up today, and brought just an axe to a 1v1 loser sits ordeal (WL myself 1v1ing) , so I took it as a obvious sign the Troll named fella was trolling us. I went out of my way to be nice even though it aggrivated me, we ended up playing
