View point from a guy that's able to transcend just CA or DM, i get along with both. Baker is a little out of the loop in multiplayer netiquette (he admitted that earlier on this thread). Wolv and Krix did what I or anyone else would've done in that situation when dealing with someone that doesn't know to obs when its 1v1 airshot. they asked him nicely to obs, he didn't, they got aggravated. it wasn't a, "look its baker, fuck this dood we're out."

But everyone wants to pile on their two cents. The dm crowd isn't some elitist group assholes that only wants to play with the same 10 ppl. They have said many times that gets boring, there are only so many combinations of tv, krix, bruce, wolv, lenny etc... i've always been welcomed to play, and when i can, i do. they always make sure new blood gets in as soon as possible, as long as it can make as fair teams as possible. Even the hardcore veteran dm'ers will sit just so the new guy can get in and get used to playing DM as fast as possible.

On many occasions, strictly CA'ers have been invited to play, from my point of view, the DM crowd is the more inviting and welcoming to new cmers. You get a newbie on CA, and u basically can't get a fair game for shit. DM, you can get balance it out better than you can in CA.

Summary is as follows, we can all play together, any mods back and forth, without the childish bullshit and we can all have fun. we don't have to all like each other, but we can still play quake, that's the important thing here.

I have absolutely no qualms with Krix. I'm a little disappointed he didn't call me a "f4ggot" --- you know, cuz like its Krix and is his word for "friend" or something.

And if Wolv would give me a second chance --- I'm actually following "his plan of ideas" --- I don't have any qualms with him either. I understand that Wolv is jaded towards me. That feeling isn't reciprocal. Yet Wolv tries to poison the well with absolutely untrue crap that I am against DM players --- this is bullshit.

Once upon a time, I played DM on Quakeworld servers a lot and it was mano-a-mano.

Am I out-of-touch --- some yes, absolutely --- but nowhere as much as some of the absurd ideas floating around there.

My ideas to strengthen NetQuake largely came from my interactions with Quakeworld. I saw how they win, they impressed their tactics on my brain. Some of you guys who somehow think I am against DM --- what fantasy bullshit, btw -- do you understand how berated I was by rabid hostile anti-NetQuake Quakeworld people?

Now --- let me put out this proposition. I've in the past been nuked --- alone because none of you mofos were around --- for defending NetQuake at Quakeworld sites during our WORST and lowest times. Think about that for a moment. Do you realize the kind of thick skin I have? And sometimes I get "attacked" by supposed NetQuake-lovers, I shake my head a little and think "whatever dude, at least you like my kind of Quake".

Despite differences, on Quakeworld sites I've had positive and mutually reciprocal relationships with Sassa, Zalon, vb, Empezar (Mr. NQUAKE), Aquashark, every ezQuake dev either directly or indirectly, Spike (whom along with MH is someone I feel the strongest of fond feelings for -- Spike was ALWAYS helped me learn more), Moon Drunk, Tonik, etc. Ruohis and SeanStar were both FuhQuake.net members -- Seanstar was known as Connor back then. FuhQuake was the predecessor to ezQuake. I'm just saying. Anyone with the idea I have thin-skin is absolutely out-of this-world delusional. I worked closely with Quakeworld people (who share a common cause with NetQuake) even when they openly --- well --- hey let's not mince words here --- hate our way of Quake.

That's about all I have to say. Except of course, if you care about this game --- like REALLY care about this game --- I'd urge some people to man-up and realize that not only is this game worth saving but we all have common cause here.

I know this. Other people will say this isn't true and I know better. Somewhere we need to find a middle ground.

Of all the improbable things, Omicron and I ---- and none of my social group says I should like Omi, yet I do --- used to have the most intense rocket arena battles imaginable.

He always won. He trash talked me a lot --- and it made me play better. I didn't like losing. When I faced him, I felt the instinctive need to play my best and to adapt to his game.

I never beat Omi at RA, but he made me play my best in a way more "socially conscientious" opponents didn't usually aspire me to play.

But really, this all could have been avoided if you guys were playing midair on a RQ server instead. It queues just like RA, with obs being default... also only Axe and RL are allowed.

I think on the RA server you type vote-midair or the like into the console, and there you have it.

i went to dm once. idled for 20 min while 4 players played the whole time. nobody else played. waiting 20 minutes=bullshit
