Speed Cheating OK You're standing on the balcony of 2fortx, surveying the opposite team's base with your sniper rifle. You see an HWGuy run by the bridge in 1/4 the time it would have taken the scout to respawn... What The Heck?????? I mean, 'is that guy cheating' you type... right before he steps behind you and sends 50-100 rounds into your back. On another server, a medic (non speedcheating, thank god) knows when anyone gets in the basement... and when you get in there, he infects you, after he left an ambush like he KNEW you around a corner... yet NONE of his team saw you... On yet another server, a spy is running around you at full speed, keeping himself (and his darned knife) trained on you... How....? Well, he's speedcheating (obviously) and Auto Aiming. At the same time. That is BAD. The medic was using a radar, which tracks the positions of traps (in MEGATF), sentry guns, friendly AND enemies. The only thing that could beat that is probably another cheater. Why do people cheat..? Well, there's many reasons... First and Foremost (and most usual) is these people HAVE NO SKILL. It's true, some people don't spend time doing SQUAT, but D/L'ng cheating accessories. Some do it just to be annoying. Some do it to have fun. I myself, yes I've cheated... but in reality, who hasn't? You ever played Monopoly? As the 'Bank'(or in agreement with the 'banker') have you committed a 'bank robbery'? Or GOTTEN money for buying a space? Usually against little kids) That's outright CHEATING. Ever copied someone's homework, 'cause you were lazy? Ever copied anything off someone's test? CHEATING. Show me someone who says they've NEVER cheated, and I'll show you a liar. I'll give an example of why some people have decided to cheat. My friend (who shall remain nameless) only had quake. I showed him TF. We were playing (me with only 5 month's experience him on his first day) we were asking how to do stuff. Basically, these 'experienced' people kicked us. Why? We were 'spamming', asking questions like we were new. We were! Next time I went to my friends house, he was fed up. When I woke up the next day, (sleepover) he had downloaded 'spiked' maps, glowpaks, and the like. Scary. All because some idiots who were 'good' were jerks too. I admit. I cheat. I'm not saying everyday, but if there's some sniper with 14 ping who mows down our team, I might become spy and knife him (preferred :)or if the D expects me, I might turn on my QW radar, strafe with AA on, and take his head off. Or in games where my team is being dominated, and the enemies are taunting us, (when we have less people, no less!) I'll become medic and infect someone while 'speeding' I laugh my a.. er, butt off watching them infect everybody else by standing in the respawn room (or killing themselves, even better :) No one really seems to care when I do what I call the 'reverse-speedcheat' I go at 35% of my speed, and act like I'm in The Matrix!(So if you see anyone jumping and walking really slowly, doing 360's in the air.... that's me... say hi ;) I also like to gren/rocket jump and turn my speed off completely! Floating sniping time! Or when I get killed, I turned off my body moving speed (if I'm in air) and start moving really slow, then fast, then stop, go regular, etc..(A speed changing dead body? that's probably me!) Sorry, had to get that off my chest... but All I really want to say is... If you cheat for a 'living' you SUCK, but the occasional cheat? Fine! (especially when a team that's bigger than you is mocking you... :) Oh also good is when I was playing border1 on a low grav server, I made 200-275 points.... all from getting to the tunnel (long jumps) and 3 kills with knife :) Go to the XCOM server and you'll probably see me doing it, too!
