Tactical Offence Movements

The attack, normal to TF/TFC consists of a direct head-on engagement. This sort of engaged was forced upon by circumatnce, and due to the lack of training of most operatives. They basically saw the enemy and went for it. The lack of communication also made any other form of engagement highly difficult to organize. As a result, the result of engagements was not based on the higher tactical and strategic skill of one of both parties, but exclusively on the firepower and mass that one of the two sides could bring forward.

In TF2 the communication and size of the maps will give commanders more room to manuevre. It will also give an advantage to the tactically versed: anyone who has ever played RTS-games will know that direct assaults hardly ever function. It is therefore proposed that, although mass and firepower still play a role, the weight of the socalled success factors will now rest on the commander who most dynamically uses the available troops. To illustrate this you will find a graphic of a socalled alternative form of attack which shows an attack

where the annihilation of the base of the enemy has become the objective. This alternative has its disadvantages, and advantages, but it clearly shows the possibilities of TF2.
