TFC Results July 14th, 1999 Total Harmonic Destruction breaks SiGiL
Who says soldiers can't cap? THD's Daz and Gunslinger proved that to be a fallacy in last night's final match with SiGiL. They combined to carry most of the flags home in our 9-3 victory on Well. It was a great overall victory for THD as they continually pressured the SiGiL defense. The night started with a 3-0 victory on 2fort. The SiGiL defense came up big with a solid defensive effort that took a strong coordinated effort by the THD offense. Meanwhile THD's defense showed why they are rapidly becoming known as a 2fort defensive force. Great work by Buckeye, ungod, Oaf and K-man to assure the shut-out against a tough offense. Rock2 was a low scoring defensive showdown that culminated in a 1-1 tie. I have often heard that a tie is as bad as kissing your sister, and I guess that's true unless you live in Ohio, where that kind of behavior is quite popular (just kidding guys!). Seriously, the defenses on both sides ruled this map and made capping extremely difficult. Hats off to SiGiL for a great game and a terrific attitude before, during and after the match. Zodiac Braves outlast the Agression Rangers
Wow, this was absolutely the toughest challenge we have met so far. It was long and hardly fought 3 round slugfest. The first round started on the excellent Citadel server with perfect pings around. Darkness, being the first time we have played this competitively, played the role as the first battlefield. Defense for both held the game to a standstill for the better part of the round, until the ZB offense broke through and got the first cap. Next was =AR='s turn. They got the flag to one of the spirals, but the ZB defense quickly adjusted and kept it there until it returned. Continuing its pressure, the ZB offense brought home two more caps while the ZB defense stayed strong and prevented a cap. Final for round one, ZB 6, =AR= 0. Moving on to the second round... Not to be outdone, =AR= came back strong. Both defenses, like the first round, remained stalwart for the better part of the round, until =AR= broke the ice that was ZB's defense and brought home a cap. =AR= continued its onslaught but ZB's defense limited them to only one cap. ZB couldn't bring home a flag that round ending the round at =AR= 1, ZB 0. Now on to the tie breaker, or so we thought... The tie breaker was to be played on Well. Both teams started their pressure, with =AR= coming on top first. While the ZB was still in bitterness over the first cap, they came back and got the flag out again. This is where the game heated up. The ZB offense kicked it into overdrive having only 10 minutes left, and no caps up to this point. Constant messages from the game saying "You team has got the enemy flag" and "Your team has lost the enemy flag" played on until a member of the ZB offense brought home its first cap. Thrilled, ZB still needed one more to tie up the game. The pressure remained on both teams, where a couple of times =AR= got ZB's flag into the water, the defense prevented them from getting it further. Finally, ZB brought home another cap bringing the game to a 20 all score. With very little time for both teams, they both managed to sneak in another cap. With almost no time left, both teams got control of the enemy's flag. As both were about to cap, the game froze up, which meant it was the end of the round. And this is where we are now. Tied going into the 4th round which is going to be played tonight at 11 on Rock2. Both teams are most definitely going to give it their all and play until they cannot play any more. Good luck =AR=! We look forward to tonight. -------
Coming to a close after 4 rounds the long hard fought match ended with a single cap which was had right in the beginning by Darkmane on an offensive rush. The rest of the game was constant defensive battles on ZB's side as =AR= poured on heavy pressure. =AR= got a hold of the key a couple of times, but the ZB defense prevented it from leaving to the field. The match went on without any other cap. I would like to sum up by saying that =AR= put up one hell of a fight without a hitch involved. Thanks for the great game, it was a learning experience! U Suck flushes Annihilation
Nothing to report they couldn't get no players so it went down the drain. July 13th, 1999 Hate Inc whittles away Clan Destine
From the looks of the first map, we thought we were facing a clan that mite get back at us in the 2nd... Didn't happen. CD played hard the first map capping lots against us. We managed to play ok even with a player dropping in and out. Round two however, they did or didn't have all 8, hard to tell, as several of them came in and out. Some just straight out left when the score just distanced them. Uh, we would appreciate you sticking it out and take your assbeating like real players. Aside from purposely just messing around using mm1, we dealt with it. They didn't get too stupid on us. For those who stayed of course, seemed like them came to play, and tried but with little result. Caught us real good first round... the match however, is TWO maps long so stick around eh? Talking Goats butt Digital Resurrection
The Talking Goats had their 2nd meeting with DiRe. Unfortunately DiRe only had 5 players and they tried to give us a run for it but 5 on 8 never works. Our offence was a machine, going 4 against 3 of their Defense. We had somebody waiting for the flag almost everytime it was capped. Our Defence had a few good rushes of 3 DiRe guys sent at them but we sent them back to the respawn pretty quickly. Althought DiRe only had 5 they are still a great bunch of guys and atleast had the guts to show up and try their best. We had alot of fun and I believe their 5 guys did too. They forfeited the 2nd round as a win for the Goats and we all joined their server and scrimmed with them for a while. The Goats are very interested in playing Dire when they are at full strength. From
what we have seen they will probably give us a good run for the money then.
Critical Error goofs against Cyber Warriors
The other clan didn't show after 30 minutes of waiting, I had a full squad waiting for 45 minutes (15 in advance for a breifing) and then they never even showed up.
Cyber Warriors botch against Critical Error
Well here it is now 8:45 and i have Goofy the contact is not even online . Ummm so i take that this is a forfiet i guess well i was hoping to play but oh well. [Editor's note: Kind of cute, huh?] Total Harmonic Destruction resists Blood Lust
Unfortunately we found out Blood Lust is falling apart. They will not be able to make the match tonight and THD has to take the forfeit win. Black Sun gets a third against Necromancers
It was a sad day in TFC land today! Clan BlackSun was forfeited on for the third time in a row. What started out to be a promising match with Clan Necromancers. Turned out to be another quit day for BlackSun :{. ICQ's were looking good until that 9:27 PM (EST) message came accross my screen. "We only have 3 players." Guess its on to next weeks activities. I would like to thank [NM]Dragosani for trying to get his guys together. Hopefully our OGL match agianst Clan TSUA will be more promising. We are in dire need of some good old fashion TFC action. KiN and GoH were forced to reschedule for later in the week. July 12th, 1999 Total Harmonic Destruction's recap
It was toe-to-toe in this gripping match between CdG and THD. THD was wary of the experience that CdG brought to the table in this one, and rightly so. CdG started the game by bringing their barrier down with 30 seconds remaining. THD got theirs down 15 seconds later to find CdG waiting at their doorstep. CdG pounced on this advantage and capped early. Initially THD had difficulty with CdG's defense, but much probing revealed some soft spots and the scoring commenced after THD had fallen behind 6-0. The teams continued to frag and cap ferociously until the match ended at 20-14, game to CdG. The second match was just as hotly contested. This time CdG lost one of their players with over 10 minutes remaining in the match. THD exploited this disadvantage for a 14-12 victory. However, CdG remained the victor on total points, 32-28. We had a great time in IRC with CdG after the match. They proved to be a fun bunch of guys and a truly class act. Great match fellas! Kollectiv defeats Grave Diggers
Prior to the match GD agreed to play both rounds on the (-|{-) server. We get the match off with a little delay as K ironed out the deatils on icq. Once on the server it was clear K had a ping advantage, as many GD members were plagued with lag. Rd 1 began with K defending the red fort and GD defending blue. RD1 was a long hard fought round as both teams had trouble penetrating the opposing teams defence, once the smoke cleared both teams were deadlocked in a 6-6 tie. Round 2 began with K getting a few early caps. GD was still at a ping disadvantage, and had trouble getting into the blue fort, which K found much easier to defend than the red. After all was said and done K left RD2 with a 12-4 lead. I wanna congratulate GD on a job well done as they showed heart despite having a clear ping disadvantage, I look foward to future matches with them and hope next time the setting will be more to their likings. Kindred tops Insurrection
ding... ding... ding... in this respawn stands ][ - weighing in with 8 players wearing red in r1 and blue in r2. in the opposing respawn KiN - weighing in with 8 players that just finished a bbq and lots of beer. on to the match up of these two heavy weights.
Barriers were taken down early as the two teams wanted to get fraggin' as soon as possible. The guns were in place and it was all up to the offense. Both sides boasting thier jumping skill as they flew across the walls into the decks storming into the flag rooms. KiN came in only to meet the sentries that had been posted up guarded by soldiers. The KiN defense held fast standing up to the onslaught of demoman, a couple spys, and medics.
Fooster and Sueto had thier high flying acrobatics on this round, as Cabal went in with the heavy guns to make sure nothing was in the way.
the D pitched a shut out on thier server and held strong as they brought in the o. Striker, Phoenix, Gearman, Cynergy and Engy Bob, kept the beer cold and the tap clean on the inside so the offense had something to come back for. This was a great game. ][ is a great clan that will be sure to surprise the next clan they play. GG to all! Agression Rangers bite Wolf
Aggression Rangers met Wolf for the 1st time with both rounds at =AR= Bootcamp as Wolf was having some difficulty in getting prematch off on their server... too bad for me as I have a nice connect there. 1st round began with =AR= breaking out 1st and knocking at Wolf's door when it opened. 1st cap was had before their defense could set up, and after that =AR= kept up a steady pressure and a solid defense. 2nd round was 7v6 as a few people had things to do. Wolf increased their offensive forays despite being a man down and managed to a pull out a good number of caps off the usually dependable =AR= defense. With most of Wolf on the attack the =AR= offense set up a flag relay and built up a sizeable margin of victory. Wolf has had to accept some forfeits the last few weeks so this was one of their 1st times on this map. They put forward an adimirable effort. ------
God we hate Darkness. NULL nullifies Digital Resurrection
The first match was on DiRe's Server. Both tems were knawing at the bit, waiting for the start. When the bell rang, both teams came out fighting strong and savagely. Both flags were touched often but never capped. It looked like it might be a cappless round when from out of the blue, MikroMike grabbed DiRe's flag and got it just outside of the door where he met a gruesome death. That was all it took for NULL Offense to swarm to that location and ferret out the flag for the Round's only cap! Round 2 was unkind to DiRe as they lost 2 players and had to play short. Hence the score. But they made the best of a bad situation and played their hearts out! My hat goes to the Flying Medic who defied gravity with those conc jumps that left me dizzy in his wake. Good sports they were! Coup de Grace blacks out Total Harmonic Destruction
Clan CdG and THD had a very close and competetive round. We started on CdG's server, and played a very strong round. THD capped nearly as often as CdG, however, CdG pulled the flag out three more times. The second round, we switched to THD's server. CdG lost two players during the round and had to bring in a sub. Although short part of the time, Clan CdG and THD had a very close and competetive round. CdG managed to keep up with THD, and only gave up one more cap. Today was a pretty good day for CdG, I'm sure we'll meet THD again soon enough and have another well fought match. Clan Erinyes holds off clan Maylstryx
RD 1 happened on Comedian's House of TFC, rd started with a quick grab by both clans then the defense's settled in and began taking names. cM fielded an HWguy on the middle divider something we hadn't seen before but wasn't as effective as one would hope. Eventually the CE offensive machine kicked in and pulled in several caps not to be outdone the cM offense made a couple caps of their own. Final score rd 1 20-6 in favor of CE. RD 2 moved to cM's Beer. RD 2 started with the usual probing offensive attacks this time cM used a demo on the middle, deterring our offense somewhat this time. Both offenses exchanged caps throughout the game, ending in a tie game of 12-12. Final Score 32-18 in favor of CE, we wish cM well and look forward to playing them in the future.
Hate Inc says goodbye to Death From Above
Instead of bowing out gracefully with whatever remained of their clan, they instead just forfeit once again. They're on a streak. Waste everyone's time, bitch and moan about clans cheating and stupid shit like that, jeesuss, its a wonder it didn't happen sooner. Not as easy as it seems does it? Just like every other former Pet Pumper (not slang, its the name of our recruits) of ours that thought differently , Rec tried, and failed. *When are these clowns gonna get deleted from all the tfc ladders?* CompWorld Frag Force silences Secret Silencer Squad
SSS never showed up on #ironglove, waited until 9:30 est July 10th, 1999 Gimps in Battle edge out Crimson Jyhad
A hard fought rematch was played after several server-related delays. The Jyhad showed up a man short but courageously agreed to take on the Gimps at full strength. The man up advantage was nearly countered by their home field advantage, but not quite enough as the close score shows. 2Fort started close but towards the midway point the Gimps had taken a commanding 60-30 lead. Not to be outdone, the Jyhad tied it with less than a minute to go. But a quick cap by the unstoppable scout Waffles and the game was up. Well was close the entire time. It was tied or the Gimps lead by 10 the entire match until the waning moments when tempers and attitude began to flare (egged on by taunting Gimps) and the Jyhad just couldn't keep up. Plenty of action and tons of gibs made it a great match and we are looking forward to slapping them silly in an upcoming grudge match. Clan Erinyes meets FYA
RD 1 was a new map for both clans and since FYA didn't have a server available at the time, we played both rounds on Comedian's House of TFC. At the request of FYA, we played TP21 which really makes this map a spamfest. FYA started out with a heavy defense but by the time the PM bug had hit CE was ripping their Command Center to bits. It didn't take long to start racking up the points. Once again CE's defense held tight and shut FYA's offense down with no score. RD 2 started out with FYA making the first cap right away but CE was seconds away with their first cap. Both teams decided to play a sniper just to make the round more fun and the action was hot and heavy on the bridge. It looked as if the score had settled down at 120 - 30 but then FYA scored 4 back to back caps and CE makes only one last cap to end a very fun filled game. I must say that for FYA being a new clan they played well and showed great
sportsmanship. They never complained about pings or even when one of their
players drop during the game. All of CE wish them well in TFC.
July 8th, 1999 U Suck's take on the CE match
An incredible match. Congrats to CE. Our clan started very strong and almost won round 1, but CE adjusted very quickly and we ended up with a tie for the round. The other 2 rounds, CE simply outplayed us. Outstanding CE offensive strategy and coordination. Each time we play CE, we get a little closer to taking them. Excellent play on both sides. Thanks for a great match. Ride the Lightning zaps Talking Goats
Well, the match was 3 weeks in the making...I'm sure everyone remembers the confusion when we played a week earlier. I was unable to attend tonight's festivities, but my clan mates said the match was great. My experience from the first matchup was that Talking Goats are a first class clan and not an easy team to beat. We changed up our offense a little for the rock based on their previous defense and only managed two caps, (they have a strong defense) They were able to score on us this week too, first time we walked away with only a zero zero tie. On 2forts they came on strong and were up pretty quick, our defense settled in and our offense was able to loosen up a little. All and all TG proved themselves as a great clan and RTL looks forward to playing these guys in the future...gg Clan Erinyes goes three against U Suck
RD 1 happened on Comedian's House of TFC, rd started with several caps by US, finally our defense settled in and started holding flags. Around halfway through the game the CE offense started pulling in caps, and eventually made up a 4 cap deficit. At this point both teams began exchanging caps, and at the 30 second mark a CE scout was making his way back with their flag only to be foiled by the timelimit. Score ended at 6-6. RD 2 moved to US's server, playing CZ versus US for the first time and we knew we'd have trouble as US has decimated many clans on CZ. Our cp3 defenders held strong while Traa made a rush on their base and detted their CC. The CE flag runners kept up the pressure and capped all points 2 times. Final score rd 2 was 215-64 CE RD 3 moved back to the House of TFC on rock2. The CE defense wanting to redeem itself from rd 1 was determined not to be capped upon. Both offenses did probing attacks and eventually the CE offense was able to make headway, scoring 3 times, then approximately 23 minutes into the match the dreaded pm bug struck and reset the scores, CE pulled one last cap just 10 secs from the end. Score b4 pm bug 3-0, score after pm bug 1-0 total 4-0 CE. Overall tie rd 1, win rd 2 for CE, win rd 3 for CE. As has been the case previously a great game from U Suck and look forward to playing them again in the future.
Black Sun overcomes Death Squad
Well everything was finally taken care of. Clan Death Squad finally decided to forfeit on us. It seems that its starting to be a regular thing. A chat with one of Death Squads members revealed that DS is in dire straits. OH, Well. Upward and Onward! Alls we want is to have a little fun! HEHE July 7th, 1999 Total Harmonic Destruction outlasts ][nsurrection
Man what an unbelievable night! We had three great hard fought battles with clan Insurrection, and we chalked up two in the victory column! Those guys really clawed tooth and nail with us. Our first match was thirty minutes of cz2. We got off to a slow start as Insurrection surged ahead on points early. They were able to cap all CPs early in the game for a seemingly insurmountable 25 point lead. However, the boys from THD got tough and slowly ground out a gradual comeback. Our soldiers did a whole lot of gibbing, and our scouts just kept on capping. After 25 minutes of play, the gang at THD surged ahead on points and finished the game with a score of 120-102. It goes to show what grit and determination will do for ya. Our match on Well was a different story. Not 30 seconds into the map, Insurrection capped our flag. Our offense struggled to get organized and fell prey to Insurrection's 5 man defense. They had every entry point well covered on defense. We were lucky to get one man into their flag room...one very tired and injured man. On the other side of the map, our defense struggled against Insurrection's very talented offensive force. The final score was 10-70. It looked as if those guys had been playing Well since they rolled out of the womb! They really taught us a thing or two! Our final battle was 30 minutes of 2fort. Man, this was the hardest fought 2fort map I have ever played. Insurrection appeared to have a defender on every corner. Sometimes it seemed like they had 8 men on defense! It took about 15 minutes before THD drew first blood on a relay run that was started by Daz and capped by Xarnon. Meanwhile, there was a whole lotta gibbin' goin' on in our base. Buckeye led the charge with a commanding presence on defense, supported by Oaf and K-man. Daz contributed with some excellent soldier defense and some much needed offense to boot!! Regardless of the quality of our defense, Insurrection found a way through and capped the flag right after us. We fought on for another 10 minutes before another excellent relay between Karma, Nemo and Gunslinger made good our final cap! Our defense continued to battle tooth and nail until the time graciously ran out on the match (whew!!!). Final score: 20-10. Gods of Hate expose Clan-Destine
The match was delayed until Tuesday evening because of the holiday weekend. We also changed the map since cz2 is boring as hell. The first match went ok, we went again with a 3 man defense and a cap slipped through. Once again for the second match we made the adjestment and had no caps against us the second round leading to a 60-15 win. GG C-D. These guys are a class act. July 6th, 1999 SiGiL tops Soldiers under Fire
This game was 2 weeks in the making, and [SiGil] was very glad to get it over with. We worked hard, practiced hard, and even surprised ourselves a bit. HUGE props out to [CdG]. barkeJR heard our plea for help and supllied a Phenomenal Server. =) too bad for them cause we're moving up the ladder because of it. Can't wait till [SiGiL]'s on the up and coming list =) Cause for damn sure we will be. Hate Inc sweeps Black Sun
Fun game. Black Sun is one of the few clans we are not actively hating. They are a class act all the way. We wish them luck in thier next game. ------
Digital Resurrection stabs Necromancers
Tonight Clan DiRe faced off with clan NM. We both had some probs getting into the server, but they worked out, and we started the game. DiRe was down by 2 people, but still won the first round barely, and with a,lot of pressure from NM's offense. In the second round, we played the best defense i have ever seen us play. But clan NM took complete control of cp2 for the whole round. But in the end the score was 94 to 74 in favor of DiRe. I would like to say good job NM, and thanks for being good sports about this. We are going to have a rematch against NM for anyone who would like to know (prolly no one cares, hehe) well, seeya all later Kindred diminishes Legion of Chaos
LoC forfeited. But first they wasted our time arguing about the server, the map, the server.cfg, etc... for almost an hour. A very poor time was had by all. I'd be surprised to see them on the STA-TFC schedule again any time soon. July 4th, 1999 Army of Darkness storms Lords of the Fortress
Interesting match, LF showed up w/only 6 players, complained that we only should have 6, but OGL rules state otherwise. The first round would have to be considered good for LF, they set most their players on D and managed to stop us from scoring. Our offense pretty much ran around like chickens with their heads cut off. Ended in a tie. Second round was completely domintated by AOD. Our offense stayed together practically the whole time and we got some kinks worked out.
Third round never came to be as all the LF players up and left our server, said call it a forfeit.
July 3rd, 1999 First Infantry Division passes Death From Above
On a server provided by clan CdG, the 1st Infantry and Death From Above were supposed to meet, but DFA pulled a no show, forfeiting the match. The 1st Infantry Division is extremely dissapointed in the way this came out....we haven't gotten to play a REAL match in a long time, we always show up with enought people, with usually a few extra on hand.....We hope this string of forfeit wins end soon, we are now in position to get on the leader board, and we want to fight to get on it, not forfeit our way up..... July 2nd, 1999 Digital Assassins kill Monkeys, Midgets, & Zombies
[DA]Knytehawkk recaps the match best with this phrase, "Yeah sure the offense ruled BUT GIVE IT UP FOR THE DEFENSE!!!! THEY NEVER EVEN TOUCHED THE FLAG!!!!!" The Digital Assassins beat Monkeys, Midgets, and Zombies last night in OGL TFC Ladder play. The match was delayed about 30 minutes, as players were straggling in at the last minute, and also because of a brief server conflict. We played the match on [DA]'s server (dedicated T1), and everyone was happy. MMZ also had only 6 people show up, but they insisted that we play with 8 "for fun. ([DA]) is going to win anyway," MMZ-Mr. DNA said. So we started the match 8 on 6. The first round was MMZ's choice, and they wanted to play the Well. Once the match started, their 7th guy came in, and we let them take him mid-match. After a couple of minutes, the score was 20-0. There was a long lull during the middle-stage of the map, then [DA] broke out and scored 9 caps. The final score was 110-0, [DA] wins. MMZ failed to touch the flag, as their Defense was pre-occupied with [DA] Offensive people. MMZ could only afford to throw 1 or 2 guys at [DA]'s Defense sparingly. MMZ had all 8 guys available for the second round, which was the Rock; [DA]'s choice. Once again, MMZ had trouble getting past a wave of Offense and [DA]'s front-side Defense ([DA]BabyEvil and [DA]Reaprman). MMZ's Offense attacked with a little more regularity, but the same result occurred: A [DA] win. MMZ never got past the courtyard, and thus, never touched the key. [DA] scored 5 times for the win, as [DA]'s Offense ([DA]Knytehawkk, [DA]Barracuda, [DA]ScannerBoy, and [DA]Bile_Clinton) took charge late in the game. MMZ were their usual selves, being great sports and wanting to play for fun after the match. I really like playing these guys, as it is always a lot of fun, no matter who the victor is. A few quotes after the match:
[DA]Reaprman: "Great game guys I'm proud to be DA!!! CAN I GET A HELL-YEAH!!!!" [DA]BabyEvil: "Having an offense that scores quickly and often makes it easier on the defense. It takes off some of the pressure and causes the other team to take more chances." That's about all I have for the OGL TFC match between [DA] and MMZ-
July 1st, 1999 Hate Inc holds down Black Sun
Damn good game. Black Sun put up one hell of a fight. Round 1 was at our home server & round 2 we played at US's server. It was damn hard getting those 2 caps on them round 2, but we really didnt want it to go 3 rounds so we kicked in the nitro burners. Look forward to playing Black Sun Monday in the STA. -----
Round two was in 2fort, played on Clan U Suck's server. After a problem with one of Hate Inc. member unable to respawn, the match was started over. And the battle began. Our offense managed an early cap, but Hate was not about to be out done. They came right back at us. I could even swear that Misfit-[Hate] was respawning in our respawn room. About the middle of the match, hate broke through our defense and left us for dead as they took 2 caps. Then the battle just went back and forth until it finaly ended. I would like to take this time to say, that Hate Inc. did not act as I was lead to beleave. They played fairly and honestly. And we thank them for a well fought match and look forward to our next match at STA this Monday. |
