Of course things inside the water can be seen.. It's just video quality..
"DP pretty water" doesn't works without VISed maps..

Your clip quality is not good enough to really say what the issues is, but I think you dont have/use VISed maps in your Quake.
That is most probably the reason why you only see the sky reflection in the water and not the things inside the water.

But again, I am not sure due to the clips quality at fullscreen.
Anyway, if you are happy as it is, everythings fine.
      Just wanted to mention it.

      Regards,
      Seven
That is the same issue i had here. Delete the .cfg and start again.

config.cfg that's in your id1 folder (or mod folder).
It will however erase all of your control setup resulting in you having to re-do it.

              Hello,

I only wanted to mention what I thought Id see in the clip.
Now that daniocampo1992 said, that he is happy with the water, everything is fine.
It was the quality of the clip, that fooled me I guess.

If you still have open questions though, please use the "DP pretty water" thread.
We will be happy to help.

              Regards,
              Seven

                Dear all,

due to the fact that noone else seems to make .ent files,
I will start doing the next episode then (but slowlier than Episode 1).
Please tell me, if you are still interested in further .ent files.
Otherwise I can save my time.

E2M1 has only 2 roof-cutouts, so its done quickly.

                Warm regards,
                Seven

                  Seven,
I'm most certainly interested in more .ent files. I'd love to see the entire Quake episodes with your .ent files, but realize this is probably too much. Maybe over time? I know I have fumbled with this and it is above my skill level at the moment, otherwise I'd help. PLEASE continue as you have time Seven. I know I'm not alone in this wish.
                  Regards

Hehehe... nice to see someone else using it.

I used the particle engine within DP for FireCult, and it worked very nicely. Rain and Snow were both perfectly integrated with a few changes, I even created some nice fireflies for an outdoor effect by changing the maths on the particlecube. They even move randomly then slowly fade in and out just like real fireflies. Pretty cool

Unfortunately, I had to scrap the entire project (pretty close to beta actually) because I became a bit unsure of the use of the code out of dpmod, and various other questions regarding the engine itself... and since LordHavoc absolutely refuses to answer any emails for about 4 -5 months, didn't respond to a single private message anywhere, I abandoned the project as the engine is too unsupported for usability. Maybe I'll pick it up again sometime.

LordHavoc gets TONS of emails. I've contacted him about 3-4 times before getting a response about the Plasma Gun issue. I have found it best to send him a PM on here though, every time I've sent a PM - I got a response.

                                Hello enki,
I have read about your decision 1 month ago in your thread.
You know how much I was looking forward to see your mod be born.
(I posted 3 times in your thread)
Now that i read about the real reasons for your abortion, I want to try all I can to persuade you to continue.

The screens, that you made from your maps are simply breathtaking.
The fantasy ambience is amazing and the effects you implemented are overwhelming.
THIS is the Quake I always dreamed about.
Old castles, fantasy, hell, middle Ages, dark atmosphere,...

I want to tell you the following:
Yes, LordHavoc does not reply to all emails. I made the same experience.
But hey, you know what ?
There are many many people at inside3D.com, that know almost as much about DarkPlaces engine as LH himself.
leilolei or Sajt, or Spike, or.... so many people !!

I want to encourage you to keep on using DP for your mod.
                                Why ?
                                Its simple:
It has the best effects, the best replacements support and:
Even if someone is NOT using DP, this engine (just like any other Q1 engine),
can be installed in 5 minutes to play your mod in a parallel Quake folder: "Q1-Enki"
Then drop your .pak inside and you are ready to rumble.

Now that you put so much effort and so much time into it,
that you are 1step before beta,
it would be a pity if you abort and begin from new.
Believe me, if you change the basic idea and start from scratch, your project will never be finished.
Because you would have to do many things again, and that is boring as hell.
I know this from my own experience.

                                Just as you said:
You know DP already very good and made awesome things with it.
The few open questions, that you wanted to ask LH can be answered from the inside3D-brains with ease.
                                I bet !
They are all nice, kind and helpfull people.
Once they saw your homepage and the progress you made, they will be screaming to help you

                                Please, think about it.
                                Your mod looks really awesome.
One of these great fan-made episodes, that will enter the hall of top ten for sure.

                                Best wishes,
                                Seven
