The trick is to get them packed together so tight they cant raise there arms.
Rendering was not a problem with this number. how many are they?

400 head could make for some interesting shortcuts.

yeah, sadly we don't really have a solution for the sliding on bbox thing yet. It is pretty crappy IMO. I remember there were some caveats when trying to remove that.

Looks like knights are too stupid to attack upwards?
It was one of those things where if you fix it for one type of model you break it for another.

I am sorry, TimStandsAlone, there is no Mac version of our engine atm. Mostly because no one of us has a Mac. I know this sucks for Mac users, and I'm sorry.

However, you can use a Mac version of Darkplaces to play our stuff. It should work.

Just download the latest demo .zip and also install Darkplaces.

Then run darkplaces with -game rmqdemo2 -sndspeed 44100.

Ladders may be buggy in Darkplaces though.

Nice work GB as usual your sense of taste is perfect.
I would like to take this opportunity to say
"Thank You" for all your hard work around here.
Many of us appreciate all the time you put into making Q1 better.
As one of the few Linux quakers here I am especially impressed with your talent.
Please try to overlook the kids,I know its hard but is worth it in the end
I am so looking forward to going over that GTK radiant tutorial I found of yours.
I actually Woo Hoo'd out loud and got a stern look from Mom's.

Thanks. Now I'll have to write more tutorials.

I almost took over the linux quake site but due to rmq I don't have the time for that atm.

                    • just checked out the blog, e1m2rmq is looking beautiful.

You seem to have the perfect combination between atmospheric indoor lighting and sunlight.

Also, you seem to be one of the few mappers who knows how to actually use those texture packs in mapping. I would get those just to play RMQ with it

God I wanna start making maps for this.

                      Comment

                      • Just like coloured lights, textures will look their best if used by the mapper while the map is made, unsurprisingly.

The QRP looks gorgeous if the map (and the lighting) is made for it. Using it in maps that aren't intended for it is relatively hit and miss.

The reason for this is that some texture/lighting combinations that work well in 8 bit look bad in high res, and the other way around, too. The map has to be geared towards the QRP textures.

Anyway the texes will come with the map (and appear only in it/in RMQ). No one has to install/deinstall anything.

Also Bloodshot, we can always use more mappers.

                        • /\ Hey, I wanted to show a friend some of the shots of e1m2 you had up, but all I can find is the outdoor and the catwalk on the blog. Did you remove them or something, or am I just being an idiot?

                          Comment

                          • Bloodshot: They might be on the RemakeQuake blog instead of my own? Don't think I removed anything.

Anyway, what I really wanted to say is, huge props to inkub0 for making some nifty textures for RMQ!!

                            Shots...

You have a great team gb !

                              • Thanks! i love Quake, and hope that this work will help me to gather more textures for hexen2 too

Maybe this is a better place to talk about the project instead of email-bombing gb hehehe

It's a good thing to analyze the materials and the architecture of every single level. Let out e1m1rq e2m1rq e3m1rq e4m1rq for now but...

in E1M2 i noticed much metal in structures like pillars and roofs. Many big bricks with rustymetal pillars. But in E1M2RQ that stuff is not present, but wood is used largely. (maybe i cant say that...is it a spoiler?)
