      then i wont add the fish to a pack yet for now untill you finished it

      and thanx for the fish texture sean, ill try it in a bit

      would be awesome if you'd also make a texture for it which looks more like the original rotfish did seanstar

      i unno, it looks kinda... dark-ish now... at least on the pic in your post, havent tried it in-game yet


      EDIT: nvm, it doesnt look as dark in-game as it does in your screenshot

        Any opinions on the vore? The texture needs some finishing touches, but I'm not a 100% sure about the animation. It is quite finished, but it's like something is missing.. I'm not sure what to improve (if anything), any suggestions? The actual model won't undergo any changes.

        And the fish, the front of the fish looks weird in the swim animation, the head doesn't move with the rest of the body. And some issues with the mouth in the dead animatio.

        At the moment I'm working on rigging the bones for the shambler. And finetuneing the bones on my night be player model. Only done the running animation on that to help work out the issues in the movement.

            A good proggy for mixing and matching animations is Motion Builder. I don't know how to do it, but I know it's possible.

            You could try Noesis for exporting the MDL to something else (Collada or FBX) and or kHED :: Home which can read in MDL models, but can only export to something useless like milkshape.

              Made some improvements to the fish. The largest one is the animation, it's a lot more natural now and runs much smoother. I also fixed a few minor problems with the texture cordinates but that doesn't change the texture, if anything it looks a bit better now.
              Used seanstars texture for this one, I prefer the first version of his improved fish texture

                      yeah, would be cool. although imo the knights and hellknights are the enemies which have the best looking low-poly models.
                      imo they wouldnt even need to be replaced, they look awesome as they are even though they're low-poly.


                      other monsters i would like to see replaced more.
                      especially the dog, cuz the ID1 dog looks just plain terrible with its completely fucked up texture-mapping and such.

                      and the ogre could definitely use a replacement too, cuz now it has legs that kinda look like elephant-legs XD


                      and i also hope ruohis will finish that awesome looking spawn that he posted in first post of the thread too. the current spawn looks kinda crappy with its ugly stretched textures

                          I'll probably work on the spawn for next, getting some practice on the more easily animated models

                          The knight needs to be remodeled, the current model looks like crap, too complex and the wrong kind of detail. and once that is someday done the hell knight won't be a problem since it's just a bit bigger version of the same model with a few extra details, horns etc..

                          The dog, well the current model isn't textured yet so not sure how it will look, at the moment it's a bit too cute for quake imo. And looking at the original dog the animation will be a bitch

                          A part of my goal, not to create the most high poly models ever, but to create them within boundaries to make them look like they belong in quake. also try to keep them under 2048 polygons so that if in the future someone fells like they need to be converted to mdl instead of md3 (mdl polygon limit)
                          It doesn't matter how much normal mapping and dynamic lights the modified quake engines and textures provide. the maps are still very simple and low detail. witch is a great thing. but my point is that not just any high poly models with shiny textures will look like they belong in that map.

                          One of the reason I like seanstars textures (other than the fact that they just look great), they have that quake feel to them that I'm looking for
                          And as I said before, you can make a simple box look exiting with the right texture
                          Basically my texturing skill are just taking and old texture and cutting it to fit my model, and at the moment I'we been using the high resolution versions of the original textures to get the right looking base texture.

                            true true, your dog model looks kinda too cute-ish for quake.

                            and yeah i totally agree, its very much true about the amount of polygons not having to be real high, a model doesnt have to be extremely hi-poly to look amazing. the texture and normal-maps and such make a huge difference too. a 2048poly model with good texture and good normals and shading can look way better then a 50K poly model with flat shading, bad texture and no normals


                            anyways, cant wait to see your spawn working, i totally love how it looks in that pic in your first post <3


                            EDIT: oops, nvm about the dog having the wrong shape. i mustve been confused with your dog and the one OoPpEe was making which he showed off in another thread

                            but yeah, your rottie is kinda to cute. something like this is what it should look like
